Match report: http://www.richmondfc.com.au/news/2018-05-27/seagulls-outdo-vflw-tigers

------------------------------------------------------------

The Tigers will come up against Essendon on Saturday afternoon in a Round 5 Dreamtime special.  Held at Tigerland at 4pm, the match will be a curtain raiser to the Richmond v Essendon Dreamtime match at the MCG that follows.

Coach Hunter said the team hopes to get as many Tigers fans to the Swinburne Centre as possible.

“To support all the girls, but also the occasion, would be fantastic,” he said.

Balmey was there today  ;D

Wait... you actually went and watched that crap? :biglaugh

Seeing it is near home and knew a couple of kids playing for the opposition yeah I did

And before you brand it. Have you ever seen a game live?

Its terrible standard WP. And deep down you know it.

Yes I'm sure the state comp is way better than the already thrill-a-minute national one ..and those super rugby scorelines sure do make it sound enticing.... :shh

Of course he knows it...everyone knows it...but fashionable "modern thinking" dictates we keep up the pretense and admire the empresses new clothes...... :shh

I don't watch it thinking it's going to be women playing to the same standard of men in the  AFL or VFL. It will never be like that and TBH nor should it be.

I see it for what it is. And that's why I actually don't mind it. I dont watch thinking I'm going to see Dusty Martins running around

Just like when i watch the local under 15s, I watch it for what it is

Or when I've watched the local comp that's for intellectual challenged people I watch it for what it is. Standard is horrible but that's OK. You accept it for what it is.

If people dont like womens footy that's fine, it's a personal choice and you can think it is crap but doesnt mean everyone else has to think or feel the same way

The VFLW Tigers will get the ball rolling in the inaugural VFLW Dreamtime curtain raiser on Saturday afternoon at the Swinburne Centre.

Sporting the 2018 Richmond Dreamtime guernsey, designed by artist Robert Young, the Tigers will contest Essendon at 4pm.

For those who cannot make it to Tigerland, tune into RSN Carnival’s live radio call of the match. Richmond supporters can also follow play-by-play updates on the Richmond Women’s Twitter account.

With the blockbuster Richmond v Essendon ‘Dreamtime at the 'G’ match to follow, fans are encouraged to head down to Punt Road Oval beforehand to catch the girls in action.

Ok I had a look...

The standard is about the level of an under 13 local boys comp and the girls can only kick it about 25 metres on average & the odd girl can roost the ball about 35-40. Some of them can actually mark the footy too. Mostly the skills are poor and some can’t even handpass properly. Long way to go.
The club that keeps giving.
