Funny thing is that Bellis is not a dud. He is just too scared to take the game on and he takes short steps...
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

Get him back on the wing. I am his biggest backer but even I know he's not always super productive off half back. Inconsistent there these days. Get him back on the wing where he runs all day, breaks the lines and delivers inside 50.

Agree.  Bellis on one wing and McIntosh on the other.  And with Houli, Short, Oleg, Naish and Menadue to run off half back, WTF do we need Bellis back there anyway?

Agree. No idea why they moved him down there in the first place other than maybe thinking it would reinvigorate him after stagnating in the couple seasons prior.

Didn't the club say at that pre-draft function they're looking to give BEllis a run with role next year? :shh

Hopefully he can stop the Willy mids from tearing us up yet again.... :shh :shh

“I’ve loved this pre-season I feel like I have a much more comfortable understanding of the game plan, I’m loving training and I’m feeling fresh out there,” Coleman-Jones said.

“Last year, I started first-year pre-season in rehab for the first month-and-a-half, and I was just learning the ropes of it all…it took me a little while to grasp things and learn the game plan.

“I know what to expect a little more, having my first year done.”

Guided by seasoned ruckmen Ivan Maric and Toby Nankervis, Coleman-Jones has been putting his height and talent to good use as he refines his ruck craft.

“It’s coming along well…it’s a growing part of my game that I want to continue to get better at and obviously there are new rules as well which change things… I’m looking forward to it,” he said.

“My off-season program was to continue to strengthen my base and getting core base strength, and a lot of footwork, which assimilates into the ruck craft as well.”

From Barrett's 'Sliding Doors' column:

IF ... the Tigers were bold enough to use overall pick 20 (their second pick, after they snared Jack Higgins at 17) on a 200cm kid from Adelaide in the 2017 NAB AFL Draft ...

THEN ... Callum Coleman-Jones can obviously play. He's coming up against one of the game's best rucks in big Bellcho in his debut. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
