So after all the unnecessary arguments on here we on balance essentially got a pick half way between what the optimists thought and what the pessimistic people thought.

Unless they finish last next year, then we got above and beyond anyone’s wildest expectations  :lol :lol

In the absolute best case that they finish last (future second = 19) and we win the flag (future fourth = 72), the net points we receive is the equivalent of pick 30. So yeah right in the middle.

No-one will give a stuff about the "points" if that happens... :shh

Best case scenario now:

CCJ struggles to lock down a spot behind Goldstein, Larkey and Comben. Plays 12 games, kicks about 12 goals and gets maybe 80 hitouts for the year. Criticised for eating a kebab at a VFL game when out of form. Roos finish last.

Richmond have a clear run with injury. The kids grow up, Ross, RCD and Graham all go to another level. Nank/Soldo solid all year. Lynch and Jack combine for 100+ snags. Win the premiership. Tarrant the Norm Smith medallist and all Australian FB.

The real proof is how good the player that we recruit turns out to be. You have better chance the higher your pick but even pick ones have been duds

Hats off to North, to me it was a fair trade and when we have the upper hand you would expect us to do the same

Treating the future second rounder in as pick 19 and the future fourth rounder out as pick 60 ...

https://www.draftguru.com.au/pick-value-calculator#19,40|42,47,60

then the trade works out as the equivalent of CCJ for Tarrant + Pick 36.

Tarrant + 40 for CCJ will do. Assuming north not likely to get much FA compo for him.

Pretty much on the money. Now just need to trade some crap picks for better ones.

Tarrant traded in saves us about 165 points on the Chol compo.
