I have always had massive wraps for lynch and I believe the record shows I always fiercely defended him. I always felt he was coached to be a decoy or something else insane but purely from his finals performances and the first half of 2019 when he was the only forward target I will always argue he has been worth every $$$$$

“I can’t believe Tom Lynch got off, I really can’t,” Kane Cornes told SEN SA Breakfast.

“It is worse than what Toby Greene did to Patrick Dangerfield last year. Because it’s Toby Greene he gets a week and perhaps because it’s Tom Lynch he gets off.

“Had the ball, lifted his elbow, got Jarman Impey high, caused blood and Jarman Impey had to go off and the MRO said it was reasonable in the circumstance - couldn’t believe it.

“He’s very lucky to be out there this weekend.”

I honestly thought he’d be suspended so maybe he is a bit lucky but for every past case the media point to as proof he should have got weeks I can give an opposite example of where players got off for similar incidents. Dangerfield 2020 grand final anyone…..

From Barrett's Sliding Doors column:

IF ...
Tom Lynch was Toby Greene ...

THEN ...
he wouldn't be playing this week. But he's not, so he is. Nothing to see in his in-play head high hit on Hawk Jarman Impey last week.

"I don't think I've seen him [Tom Lynch] in better form. He's really confident at the moment," Jack Riewoldt said.

"You just look at the way he's launching at the ball with his body, it fills us with a lot of confidence that we can kick the ball to him.

"The majority of time he's winning these contests but also halving them and not getting beaten and then giving guys a chance on the ground.

"I hold a very special place for Lynchy. When I think about his game, he's copped some criticism here and there and I love seeing him perform on the big stage."

Hardwick said Lynch felt something occur in his left hamstring so it was sensible to ice the injury early and scans would reveal the extent of the injury.

“We’re not too sure of the significance,” Hardwick said.

Confidence player and gee when he gets the yips he gets them BAD. I can see why Dusty tried to set him up early when he probably should have just pulled the trigger.

Anyway hope it's not bad. Would be a huge out vs Sydney for our structure.

Lynch has had scans today. Gets the results tomorrow. He hopes it's not too bad a hammy and he's back after the bye.

Richmond is resigned to losing Tom Lynch, with the Tigers spearhead heading in for scans after tweaking his hamstring.

Yep a real disappointing return to shitsville for Tom last night.  Gets paid to kick goals and missed 5 shots of which 3 had to be goals.

TOM LYNCH ESCAPES SERIOUS HAMSTRING DAMAGE

Sam Edmund
SEN
23 May 2022

Tom Lynch has escaped serious damage to his hamstring.

The Richmond spearhead was scanned yesterday, with his latest soft tissue injury understood to be on a minor end of the scale.

Sources said Lynch’s left hamstring was nothing like the strain that cost him several weeks during pre-season.

The forward is still likely to sit out Friday night’s clash against Sydney, with the Tigers’ bye coming at an opportune time the week after.

“(Lynch has) got a strain. So he’ll be (back) after the bye at some stage. It’s probably more than likely the second game after the bye,” Hardwick said.

“It’ll probably more than likely be the Carlton game we think at this stage.”

Could have 40+ goals if he didn't get the yips so hard

Spearhead Tom Lynch will return from a hamstring injury for the blockbuster.

Lynch will be keen to quickly return to the red-hot form that saw him boot 31 goals in his first nine games.

"I trained strongly yesterday so I'll be putting my hand up to play," he said.

"Obviously your first game back you're not sure how you're going to play but I'll just keep it pretty simple and just try and perform my role for the team."
