I get what you’re saying AT and for what it’s worth I wouldn’t make that trade either but I can see the argument for those that would. 7 games in 2 seasons is very very hard to look past and at age 32, given he has always been injury prone, it’s hard to imagine us getting another 15+ games out of him next season.

Let’s hope with a competent S&C team we get something like 2022 results from big Tom because as you mentioned when fit, only Jeremy Cameron and Charlie Curnow are at his level IMO.

The Dusty rumour has been squashed so the media are now targeting Lynch.

Tom Lynch must be a known liar, no one wants to believe him when he said he was not going anywhere , I’ve never heard him tell a lie but I can’t wait for all the examples to come through from those who don’t believe him .

Lynch on 7news last night:

Feeling really good.
In half the drills at training at the moment.
Doing top up running on the side to make sure he is cherry right.
Come January, he'll be in everything at training.
Looking forward to next season.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he called it at the end of the season especially if he misses a large chunk of it like he has the past couple.

I hope he will enjoy mentoring the class keys forwards we picked up this year as that’s the greatest value he can add to our future in the twilight of his career

Or, it may extend his career, freshen him up. The ongoing hammys are a worry tho
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

‘Really good for connection’ - Lynch

https://www.richmondfc.com.au/video/1707607/really-good-for-connection-lynch

-------

Since returning to the club in 2025, the 32-year-old said the atmosphere around the club has been positive.

“It was exciting (to come back) …you don’t see many of the boys, so it’s good to come back and see what they got up to,” he said.

“We had a nice session where everyone sent a photo in of what they did over the break and that was really cool to see what everyone does when they get back with their family.”

As a leader of the club, Lynch said it’s important to make the club’s young players “feel welcome and valued straight away.”

“They’ve come straight from school and training late at night and things like that, so just educating them on good habits and training standards, but first and foremost, you want them to feel welcomed and build relationships,” Lynch said.
