Another snippet from Lynch on SEN:

He said "joining a big club" will be a significant change. He was able to walk around the Gold Coast unnoticed as "it's a rugby town". "So there's pros and cons" to moving back home to Melbourne. He just felt it was the right time for him to move back to Melbourne.

With Lynch coming, will Hardwick start him out of the goal square or will he persist with the messy, unorganised set up he has been going with, with all our forwards within about 10 meters of each other 30 meters out from goal.

DeGoey started from the goal square last night, and when they won a clear centre clearance they had someone leading at the ball carrier.
Us on the other hand just had to lob it in Jacks head running back towards goal.

Yeah because he was always gonna announce it the day after our season ended in defeat.....

Relax I wouldn’t expect anything until the Monday after the grand final.

AFL greats believe Tigers must tinker with structures to accommodate for Lynch

Hawthorn legend Dermott Brereton believes the Tigers might lose a little bit of their edge if they recruit free agent Tom Lynch.

Lynch will leave the Suns after eight seasons on the Gold Coast, and despite not officially announcing his preferred destination, it’s widely expected he’ll select Richmond in the coming days.

Even though Lynch is a very good forward in his own right, Brereton believes Richmond could compromise their structures a little to accomodate for Lynch.

“The hardest and most difficult time any team has had dealing with Richmond was last season when they got on a roll and their three small forwards were able to surge and run with the flight of the ball,” Brereton told SEN’s Crunch Time.

“They outran everybody. They’ll still be able to do that a little bit, but not the same.

“If you’ve put in a second big, key marking forward, they’re not playing that run back to goal that teams fear anymore.”

Former Western Bulldogs captain Robert Murphy joined in on the debate, and said the upcoming off-season for the Tigers is massive, as they try to build him into their game plan.

“I think it’s the right call to get Tom Lynch, I think their summer becomes a cram session because it’ll just change the way they play,” Murphy added.

“We’ve got such a clear idea of how Richmond play and how their forward line works and the landscape is so different now.

“Their forward pressure which has been so hard to get out of, with another tall, it just makes it that bit easier.”

They just have to model themselves on the Kennedy and Darling forward line. Lynch will be Kennedy and jack will be Darling. Get Butler, Rioli and Castagna to be at their feet and things wont be that different. Just better.... :shh
OER. Calling it as it is since 2004.

We have to tinker with it anyway. We did the same thing for two seasons. Worked once, not quite so well the second time. Jack could always move up the ground and play like his cousin and the forward line stays largely the same.
