Changes for the Dogs games?

Dimma said post-game that we're going to play as close to our best side as possible against the Dogs.

So fire away with your changes?

Ins: Cotchin. Prestia. Astbury.

Next week, for their final round clash with the Western Bulldogs at the MCG, the League leaders hope to select a near full-strength side in their last hit-out before the finals.

Hardwick said his team would regain skipper Trent Cotchin (hamstring), fellow midfielder Dion Prestia (hamstring) and defender David Astbury (Achilles) for the Saturday afternoon clash, while Kane Lambert (ankle) and Dan Butler (ankle) are likely to be available for the club’s first final.

"Dion trained today and ran well, 'Cotch' trained today and ran well, and Dave the same, so those three will come back," he said.

"Lambert will probably miss another one, I'd say. 'Butts' is probably a couple of weeks away as well. They're on the mend."

Out. Baker . Garthwaite and Lloyd
Ins   Cotchin . Astbury.Prestia

Then the following week bar injuries
The ins will be Lambert and Butler
The outs.   Who knows . Maybe McIntosh and Conca
You wouldn’t want to play an absolute stinker next week if you were these two
Does Butler come in  ? Missed a lot of footy and can’t play VFL

x2

As much as i don’t think Grigg has done enough, he has been good the last 2 matches.

I would not play Bulter. It’s either drop Conca (which it seems like they will not based on that rotation in the midfield) or Higgins.

Looks like Townsend and Bulter will miss out from our Premiership side.

Obviously Short is a lock.

So IMO it’s Higgins or Conca that will play.

Unfortunately the love for Conca might get him the gig this year regardless of his poor record in finals including last years vfl series or any previous afl final.  :banghead

Whilst other players absolutely dominate vfl games week in week out despite a heavy tag, be amongst the best throughout last years vfl finals series, have decent form in any afl game they’ve played to date including previous afl finals games but still be left on the outer because the coach doesn’t like them as much as others. It really sucks to be one of those players.

Who absolutely dominates VFL week in week out? I can think of one guy. And while I agree he's copped a raw deal, it's not that hard to realise his style of play & his role is completely different to the likes of Conca and anyone else you want to poo can.

Higgins would be incredibly unlucky to be squeezed out due to Conca.
I think he has shown more than enough to be at this level
