7-8 outs from the senior list would/should be about it.

In:
Lynch (FA)
Traded player (or two) in?
Draftee - 1st round pick
Draftee - 2nd round pick
Draftee - 2nd round pick (from GCS)
Draftee - 3rd round pick (from GCS)
Moore (upgraded to senior list)

With the removal of the rookie list, does the senior list expand?

They're not removing the rookie list as there is still a rookie draft scheduled for this year,  think the change is that they will no longer will need to be elevated  to play in the seniors so they'll all be elligable to play every match  but they'll still be "rookies' in terms of all the other rules that apply to rookies.... :shh

Who survives the Lynch squeeze?

Alistair Paton
Herald-Sun
4 Oct 2018

RICHMOND will be one of the most active clubs of the trade period, but most of the traffic will be heading out of Punt Rd.

And Tiger fans shouldn't be getting their hopes up about securing a cache of high draft picks in return.

"Tom Lynch, I think, will be the only currently-listed player at another club who is coming in," Herald Sun reporter Michael Warner said on today's episode of Trade TV.

"But look at the list of who's going out – Reece Conca's going to Fremantle on a four-year deal, that's done. They won't get compensation for that because of the Lynch situation, so he goes for free."

Warner said the Tigers could expect picks in the "40s, 50s and 60s" for Corey Ellis and Anthony Miles, who have both been linked to Gold Coast.

"Tyson Stengle, you're talking about pick 50 there, and Sam Lloyd, he's about a fourth-rounder as well. So they're not going to get any high-end draft picks."

Warner said Jacob Townsend was still a chance to stay at Richmond despite reported interest from the Suns and St Kilda, and he expected Brandon Ellis to be at Punt Rd in 2019.

"Dimma loves Brandon Ellis and unless someone comes with a massive offer, I think he stays."

Nick Dal Santo on Richmond trading depth players:

"I wouldn't be overly concerned if you were worried about midfield depth at the Tigers just yet. I think there's enough coming through and who know's where these other guys could end up"

RICHMOND

Unsigned: Mabior Chol, Nathan Drummond, Derek Eggmolesse-Smith, Sam Lloyd, Ivan Soldo, Tyson Stengle, Jacob Townsend

The Tigers, who won the free agency race for key forward Tom Lynch, already traded Anthony Miles and Corey Ellis to Gold Coast. They are also set to offload wantaway pair Sam Lloyd (Western Bulldogs) and Tyson Stengle (Adelaide) in the coming days. Townsend's AFL dream likely rests with Richmond after St Kilda denied being interested in the premiership-winning forward, while Soldo should be back as one of few ruckmen on the list.
