He was given that last year 6 games in a row, he played 9 games last year averaging 14 disposals 3 of which were clangers.

At some stage we need to try him as a medium forward because he has no natural ball sense that  midfielders have.

True but was his first year playing at AFL level. Wasn’t saying it to compare him to cotch, just an example not to write off someone with low disposal counts after 10 games.

They play different positions but I want to reman optimistic with rcd and the comparison I like to make is luke hodge. It took him 3 full seasons before finding his feet at AFL level.

I have hawthorn supporter friends and they were all screaming to delist/trade hodge in the first 3 seasons. I’m hoping RCD is a similar slow burn

Unsure on RCD - uses the ball well, is strong, but just doesnt find the ball enough yet. Even at VFL level.

Others eg Sonsie and Clarke, may go past him pretty quickly.

yep he seems to lack that innate ability to find the footy which is hard to teach.

Hodge had a high footy IQ and a lethal left foot so already had AFL traits, just had to get the tank right.

RCD has the tank now (14.2 kms covered in Perth game) but what are his AFL traits?

Really? Low metres gained, low number of kicks....could it be he possibly played role he was given. You know inside mid getting the ball out to others (like Short) to kick it long inside 50?
