Thats what I thought as well but I was only watching the game at The Blackburn Hotel. Lots of Richmond supporters there all cheering they boys on and sometimes as per usual being a bit critical of some players.

28 possies, 4 marks, 3 clearances, 3 tackles, 7 inside 50s.

He's going to be stiff if he misses this time with those stats. Great game for a first year player  :clapping.

Think Dio was the one who mentioned it, but love how he gets his arms up in a tackle to be able to dish off a handball. Was a bit sloppy with his disposal today but another very good showing from the young man. Hope he gets recognised.

Star!

Keep him in the middle even when we get a few back.

Genuine mid that knows no other way.

RCD has the same quality but even more pronounced, going to be a lethal midfield combo in the years to come...will wreak havoc.... :shh

Why aren’t we playing him ahead of B.Ellis? Especially considering the rhetoric of players that are adhering to the so called “Richmond Way”.
Is he ready? Can we expect to see him any time soon or is he not ready yet?

Because he’s not ready and doesn’t have the tank for vfl let alone afl yet. Ellis has been good the past few weeks, give it a rest.

RCD's not ready yet..,still needs to bulid his tank and learn a few of the finer points of playing midfield at senior level...I'm confident it will happen sooner rather than later....went from only getting 11 touches in his first competitive match to getting 18 in his second which is encouraging... :shh

EDIT: More an outside mid but start getting excited about Fraser Turner too just quietly... shh :shh

Too little too late.
I will not rest until I don’t see Brandon Ellis playing for us any longer.  :shh

Tigiritis, You can’t see the forest for the trees mate.
Ellis HAS been dropped, worked hard on his game and is now making a valuable contribution (which I can barely believe I’m saying). That is the Richmond way - which is what Menadue, Garthwaite, Butler will do and Oleg will do when he gets back from injury.

We need all players to work hard on their deficiencies and then be rewarded - which is exactly what he has done.

It’s why we have been the best side in the comp over the past 2 years and why we have depth while our best players are injured.

It makes us a huge threat again this year.

Players who work hard on the 2’s, get promoted and have impact in the seniors should be celebrated - whether they are in their first, second or tenth year.

It is what is making our club great lads.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
