Ridiculous that Stack has spent so long in prison for a minor public health offence.
It is worth mentioning that Western Australia has the highest indigenous incarceration rate in the country and still has the outlook of a penal colony. Hopefully the club supports him through this, even if they can't send anyone to WA for the 'trial'

Not wrong there on those facts and it aren't no coincidence.
It’s a bloody disgrace Stack was denied bail and put in jail (solitary confinement apparently)
The club should do all it can to help him.

This absolutely shook me when I watched it. I had no idea this happened in our country.

If you haven’t seen this I would highly recommend that everyone does.
The club that keeps giving.

This I would find particularly disgraceful.

I will watch the video too, when I get a chance.

Once again a situation where  an ill disciplined black fella breaking the law is turned into a race debate.

Jailed Stack's bid for bail

By Anthony Colangelo
The Age
January 6, 2021 — 5.36pm

Richmond's Sydney Stack will try to win freedom from prison later this week after spending the Christmas and new year period behind bars.

Stack, 20, was arrested in Perth on December 19 for allegedly breaching Western Australia's coronavirus quarantine laws.

He was denied bail the following day, and on Wednesday his lawyer successfully sought to adjourn the matter to January 20.

It was also decided on Wednesday that Stack would face a bail application hearing this Friday, a spokesman for the Perth Magistrates' Court confirmed. If this is not granted, Stack will remain in jail for at least another 12 days.

Sydney Stack back in court over alleged COVID-19 self-quarantine breaches

Sydney Stack’s incarceration in a Perth prison over the new year for allegedly breaching self-quarantine rules could finally be nearing an end for the Richmond footballer.

Tiger Sydney Stack could be out of jail as soon as Friday despite his latest court appearance being adjourned until January 20.

Stack, who has already spent Christmas and New Years inside Hakea Prison, made a brief appearance in Perth Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, accused of breaching WA’s COVID-19 quarantine requirements.

Defence lawyer Siobhan Nims made no submissions to the court other than to request her client’s matter be adjourned to January 20.

However, Stack has a bail application hearing on Friday morning to appeal the December decision to deny him bail.

Stack’s agent, Paul Peos, told the Herald Sun on Tuesday that his client was finding his predicament “very challenging”.

Stack remained straight-faced throughout his brief video appearance on Wednesday, where his case was adjourned until January 20, uttering only one word.

“Yep,” he said when asked by Magistrate Edward De Vries if he understood what was being said in court.

Richmond drew plenty of attention last year, a season which delivered a third premiership in recent times, over trouble with COVID-19 protocols, accusations of playing for free kicks and a groping scandal.

Sounds like the Club is hoping Stack will be released on Friday so they can fly him home over the weekend and have him join the start of training on Monday.

What a load of poo.

It wasn't an opinion.
Indigenous people comprise 3% of the WA population but 40% of it's prison population
Indigenous youth are 26 times more likely to be incarcerated than their white counterparts
Indigenous West Australians are more likely to be held on remand than a white person
The list goes on.
It doesn't matter what I think, what you think or the what the banjo playing one nation supporters think, the simple fact is that the odds are against him.

3% Of the population performing so much crime no wonder 40% of them are in jail. Most of the time its not jail for first offence either its  numerous offences. Black white or whatever you cant keep on slapping them on the wrist and expect a different outcome.

Theres an old saying, you cant help those who refuse to help themselves and this rings true to so many blacks in WA.

Its not a lack of programs or money we throw a ridiculous amount of money at just 3% of the population there are so many incentives for Aboriginals to better themselves yet few lift a finger to better themselves, in fact too many encourage their kids to commit crimes and feel sorry for themselves

We cant turn back the clock they have have to get off their asses and stop blaming the white fella for every little thing and do it for themselves.

If you treat me like poo im going to reciprocate people have had a gutful of the drunkeness lawlessness and abuse that emanates from such a small percentage of the population.

Last what odds are against Stack he has a far better opportunity than the majority of australians if he shows scant regard for the law and others then its on him not the system or any other race.
