Foxsports' latest phantom draft has us only using our three successive picks in the 40s and taking Taheny, Williams and Garcia.

AFL phantom draft: How the remaining picks should play out — and there are several hidden gems

Matt Balmer
FOX SPORTS

22. Port - Josh Worrell
23. Bris - Will Gould
24. Adel - Harrison Jones
25. Adel - Harry Schoenberg
26. Haw - Finn Maginness (matching Geelong's bid)
27. Geel - Deven Robertson
28. Syd - Elijah Taylor
29. Port - Jackson Mead (matching North's bid)
30. North - Trent Bianco
31. North - Jeremy Sharp
32. Melb - Hugo Ralphsmith
33. Bris - Jay Rantall
34. North - Trent Rivers
35. Ess - Charlie Comben
36. Syd - Flynn Perez
37. Ess - Fraser Phillips
38. Bris - Brock Smith
39. Coll - Jake Riccardi
40. Geel - Darcy Cassar
41. Adel - Jack Mahony

PICK 42: RICHMOND – CAMERON TAHENY

Clubs: Norwood/South Australia

Position: General Forward

Size: 185cm, 80kg

Bio: Taheny is one of the harder players to place in terms of ranking after an up and down 2019 campaign. He could do as early as the second round, but may find a home in the latter stages of the draft on night two. The 18-year-old has plenty of upside, despite a few injury setbacks. His performance in the SANFL Reserves Grand Final for Norwood will stick in recruiters mind, with the left footer impressing at the start of the year in the SANFL League competition. It certainly hasn’t been a complete season by the medium forward, but he has some traits that will appeal to AFL clubs.

PICK 43: RICHMOND – DYLAN WILLIAMS

Clubs: Oakleigh Chargers/Vic Metro

Position: General Forward

Size: 186cm, 81kg

Bio: Williams begun the season as a potential No. 1 pick, but struggled for consistency as injuries curtailed his year. If there’s a player who could be a bargain for a club down the track, Williams is that player if he can grow in an AFL environment. His craft and smarts around goal make him extremely damaging as he turns onto his left foot going forward. He has shown some ability as a key defender, while also winning the clearances in the midfield for the Chargers. He is one of the great unknowns, but with plenty of X-factor, he might just become one of the better players out of this draft pool if he can improve some deficiencies.

PICK 44: RICHMOND – RILEY GARCIA

Clubs: Swan Districts/Western Australia

Position: Outside Midfielder

Size: 177cm, 70kg

45. Carl - Ned Cahill
46. Syd - Ben Johnson
47. Adel - Mitch O'Neill
48. WCE - Sam Ramsay
49. North - Dyson Hilder
50. Coll - Cooper Sharman
51. StK - Nick Bryan
52. WB - Daniel Mott
53. Haw - Karl Finlay

PICK 54: RICHMOND – PASS

55. Coll - Jake Pasini
56. Ess - Henry Crauford
59. GC - Emerson Jeka
60. Bris - Keidean Coleman
63. Freo - Josh Shute
64. StK - Darcy Chirgwin
67. WB - Josh Morris
68. WCE - Oscar Lewis
69. GWS - Angus Baker
76. GWS - Callum Jamieson

How many rookies can we take ?.
We've currently got 34 senior listed players, five category A rookies (Aarts, Stack, Baker, Pickett & Chol) plus one category B rookie (DES).

If we use 3 picks in the ND tonight then that will make it 37 + 5 + 1. You're allowed six cat. A rookies so I presume we'll only select one more rookie at the most. We may hold off altogether and leave a spot on both our senior and rookie lists free for any future supplementary or midseason draft rookies plus any promotions to the senior list.

Is Matt Balmer a North supporter? That draft looks very favourable to the Roos with them getting Bianco, Sharp, Rivers & Hilder.

Just missing out on the last of the top talent... :shh
I'm guessing we'll be looking to push up the draft order into the early 30s at least by offering our 2020 first rounder. Might even throw in pick 44 (which would become redundant) for another club's 2020 third rounder to build up points for MR jnr and our NGA kids.

If we wanted Rivers say (if the draft tonight went exactly as above) then offer the above to North for their pick 34.
