Blew himself up in the first half, we probably need another run down forward to work in tandem ,which maybe why they traded Dusty out for Mansel

Maurice is our only play with forward pressure. Need another one.

Think you are selling Jack Graham short there.

Felt for the kid (MJ) today his work rate and 2 way running was top notch just didn't get the reward on the stat sheet

Maurice's two way running. Firstly that defensive run down tackle followed immediately by offensively linking up through the centre of the ground to get it to Hopper who goaled.

His pressure remains too top notch. To take his game to the next level, he’s got to do better with ball in hand. He’ll never be a high possession getter (atleast in his current role), but when he does get it, he needs to make the most of it. Too many direct turnovers from his possessions against the crows where we looked like we were out the back and on for a certain score and MRJ missed the target.

Gotta be more than just a pressure player. Know he worked hard but poor disposal combined with such little ball not good enough.

Matthew Lloyd questioned the fitness of Maurice Rioli junior after his goalless, eight-disposal effort.

I think his fitness is fine.

He's doing a role all by himself.

Could be a bit quicker between the ears and cleaner by foot.

Definitely needs to find some new tricks. Tracking okay for a 3rd year player though

What no one is talking about: Quiet Maurice

Is Maurice Rioli doing enough at the moment?

The small forward was goalless for the second straight week against the Pies and has laid just four tackles in his last two games.

Applying defensive pressure is Rioli’s go, but he has not laid a tackle inside forward 50 since Round 1.

He needs to get back to chasing and tackling in order to have a more substantial showing against the Dogs in Round 4.

Pressure without the ball is still strong from Maurice (which we need), but his confidence handling the ball appears to be shot at the minute. His ball use has been at times questionable in the past (especially over distance), but right now the main issue is he is continually fumbling, so he's hardly winning any loose-ball contests and possessions when in the past he's usually been clean at gathering the pill.

Done a hammy. So obviously if it's a standard hammy then he will miss the next 2-3 weeks.

I’d be happy if he misses the whole year.

He gets a game only by his name as he is absolutely poo. If Hugo is crap then Maurice is on the same category.

Hopeless.
