According to veteran AFL reporter Damian Barrett, while Saad has been linked with Melbourne, Carlton and Richmond, he is now likely to re-commit to the Bombers.

"I fully expect Adam Saad to now stay," he told Nine's AFL Sunday Footy Show.

"We know that there is a good offer or good offers for him to leave, but I think in the last week or so Essendon has done enough to keep him.

"That's still to play out, but that's the way I'm reading that one now."

However, Barrett admitted that Essendon was likely to lose both Joe Daniher and Orazio Fantasia.

AFL trades state of play: Every club, every player who could move and every draft pick

RICHMOND

They’ve kept Jack Graham at the club after he was linked to several others, which is a plus. The other out-of-contract Tiger drawing interest is Nathan Broad, with Gold Coast one of the lead contenders with close friend and former teammate Brandon Ellis making the move there last year. Richmond are one of at least four Victorian clubs linked to Adam Saad as the Essendon speedster continues to mull over his future. Saad has said himself he is driven by the quest for a premiership and none of his other suitors could boast being as close to one as the Tigers. There was some interest around Callum Coleman-Jones even though he’s tied to the club until the end of 2021, but his COVID-19 breach hasn’t exactly upped his value to other sides. Toby Nankervis is still without a contract beyond this year, but a serious knee injury to Ivan Soldo will boost his chances of another contract. Three interesting case studies are [/b]Marlion Pickett[/b], Jake Aarts and Derek Eggmolesse-Smith. All three remain on the rookie list and are entitled to reject another rookie contract at the end of the year and become unrestricted free agents if they choose. With list sizes to be cut and rookie numbers with it, at least one of that trio may well be looking elsewhere for opportunity.

Draft picks: 17, 32, 53, 71, 89

At least four ruckmen are expected to draw interest from GWS and Sydney, led by premiership Tiger Toby Nankervis. The other three ruckman set to draw interest are Melbourne’s Braydon Preuss and Port Adelaide pair Scott Lycett and Peter Ladhams.

Collingwood defender Darcy Moore’s management has reportedly told other clubs the 24-year-old will be staying put at the Pies.

Carlton have reportedly met with Essendon speedster Adam Saad “twice in recent days”. “Carlton has missed out on Jack Graham and they’re upping their efforts for Saad,” Tom Browne said.

Harley Bennell’s AFL career is all but over, with the 27-year-old taking to Instagram to confirm he would not be playing on in 2021 with Melbourne.

Peter Wright up for grabs.

Any interest given our current ruck stock? Certainly an upgrade on Chol, CCJ still suspended and has 1 game to his name, Soldo injured for all 2021.

Not sure what the knock on him is? Has played plenty of games and kicked goals. Can ruck a bit.

Will Brodie officially up for grabs too but I'm a bit meh.

Here's the article:

ESSENDON is exploring the prospect of bringing Bachar Houli back to the Bombers.

The dual Richmond premiership defender, who sensationally walked out on Essendon in 2010, has received inquiries about a return more than a decade later.

AFL.com.au understands the Bombers are open to offering Houli greater career security with the 32-year-old playing on one-year deals for the past two seasons at Punt Road.

While he is settled and content at Richmond, Houli doesn't have a contract in place for next season at the Tigers.

Houli shares a close relationship with Bomber Adam Saad, a player Essendon is trying to retain on a four-year deal amid keen interest from clubs including Carlton and North Melbourne.

"I call Bachar my brother, I've looked up to him since he started. We speak once or twice a week and we're very close," Saad said before playing with Houli for Victoria in February.

Houli won the first of his two AFL flags under Tigers defensive coach Ben Rutten in 2017 before Rutten crossed to Essendon in 2019. He has since been appointed senior coach for 2021.

The dashing half-back also spent time with key Bombers assistant Blake Caracella when he was at the Tigers from 2016-2019.

Off-contract defender Adam Saad has “one foot out the door” at Essendon, according to Bombers great Tim Watson.

Adam Saad has been “split down the middle” on his future, says foxfooty.com.au senior reporter Tom Morris. It’s not necessarily about the money, it’s about the direction of the club. Channel 7 reporter Mark Stevens reported the Bombers had upped their offer from four years to five, closing the gap on the length and money being offered by rival clubs in a renewed bid to secure his services.

Essendon utility Brayden Ham is attracting “preliminary interest” from rival clubs.

GWS has upped its offer to Jye Caldwell in a bid to ward off Victorian rivals from snaring the talented midfielder. The Giants are believed to have lifted their original two-year offer to a deal up to four years as Caldwell weighs up his future.

More Dodoro fantasy :putz. Why would Bachar go back to the club that's still the complete rabble that let him go for nothing a decade ago?!

Essendon should be massively rebuilding their list as they are not in the same galaxy to a premiership yet they are chasing a 32 year old they let go of as a 22 year old. They are the gift that keeps on giving :lol.
