Houli. Great player, love him but this is insanity from the bombers
More Dodoro fantasy :putz. Why would Bachar go back to the club that's still the complete rabble that let him go for nothing a decade ago?!

Essendon should be massively rebuilding their list as they are not in the same galaxy to a premiership yet they are chasing a 32 year old they let go of as a 22 year old. They are the gift that keeps on giving :lol.

Admittedly he walked to us in PSD. Thanks Druggos!

After dopey Dodoro and his massive ego refused our offer of an early 3rd round pick. Got greedy wanting a high 2nd rounder for what was then a 22 y.o. fringe player who wanted out. He even lied saying they wouldn't have used such a 3rd round pick in that draft when they ended up drafting three players after that pick. He and Essendon got what they deserved - Nothing! Hilarious that this bloke is still their chief recruiter a decade later. Yes, "thanks druggos" ;D.

You sure of this MT?  I know they used their pick immediately after the one we offered but not sure they used anymore after that.  We took Brad Helbig with the pick we offered who incidentally they wanted.  Can't recall who they got in the end but he wasn't much good either

I do recall When we picked Conca The Red they got spikey hair dreadlock boy Heppel with the pick after, we lost out in that one. . . Swings and roundabouts

Sam McClure on Footy Classified reckons there will be interest in Jack Higgins from other clubs as he didn't get a regular game for us this year.

Lloyd and then Caro said St Kilda is keen on wooing Giant Tim Taranto once their season is over.

AFL Media’s Mitch Cleary is reporting that Melbourne has made strong enquiries for the triple premiership Hawk Isaac Smith.

Yep, it's correct. Essendon drafted 3 players in the 2010 National Draft after pick 47 that we offered for Houli.

48. Alex Browne (Essendon)
64. Luke Davis (Essendon)
80. Michael Ross (Essendon)

It was a poor draft for us at the time in terms of our picks but has worked out well in the end via trades & free agency. We now have three of the top 11 picks from the 2010 draft on our list in addition to Houli - all premiership players too :thumbsup.

2010 National Draft
6. Reece Conca
7. Josh Caddy (Gold Coast -> Geelong -> Richmond)
9. Dion Prestia (Gold Coast -> Richmond)
11. Tom Lynch (Gold Coast -> Richmond)
30. Jake Batchelor
47. Brad Helbig
51. Dean MacDonald
63. Tom Derickx
94. David Gourdis (promoted rookie)

Preseason draft
3. Bachar Houli

Rookie draft
11. Ben Jakobi
28. Brad Miller
45. Tom Hislop (redrafted)

Hope so.

Happy to see him out personally.

Should we look at getting Goldstein for one season as back up?
The club that keeps giving.

Surely one of our worst performances when you think we could have acquired all of Tom Lynch, Luke Parker, Tom McDonald, Jarryd Lyons, Paul Puopolo, Luke Dahlhaus and Jeremy McGovern for nothing.

Houli is the only good thing we did.

One of our worst ever.  Conca and Batchelor were both reaches.  Jackson very lucky to still have a job after the Conca decision.  Heppell, Caddy, Prestia and Lynch all went immediately after and were all higher ranked juniors and all turned out to be significantly better players

Rival clubs showing interest in Richmond duo

Could the pair leave Punt Road?

Richmond live wire Jack Higgins is reportedly attracting interest from rival clubs while Gold Coast continue to show curiosity in teammate Nathan Broad.

Higgins suffered a brain bleed in 2019 and after a steady recovery, made his return to the training track late last year. The 21-year-old featured for the Tigers in their opening pre-season game but has since struggled to break into Damian Hardwick’s side.

According to SEN’s Sam Edmund, the out-of-luck forward has gained interest from rival clubs.

“I think they may have been a few calls made (by opposition clubs) on this,” Edmund said.

“Whether he’ll leave or not seems wildly unrealistic, I think he stays and he’s got Richmond very much running through his veins and given everything he’d been through from a health perspective, it would be really hard to prise him out of there.

“Given his status (not being in the side), definitely calls have been made.”

Higgins is contracted with Richmond until the end of the 2021 season, while Broad remains without a deal for next season.

Broad is understood to be in the sights of the Suns, with Edmund revealing there is some interest in the 27-year-old.

“Nathan Broad remains unsigned at Richmond and he’s been linked to Gold Coast, who have a lukewarm interest.

“They’re not red-hot on him, it’s more lukewarm given what they’ve got in that position.”

Higgins is tradeable for me a decent pick or young player in return.
