Tom Morris on Foxsports saying Essendon could get Peter Wright for a future 4th rounder.

Barrett is claiming Essendon is deliberately slowing down the trade period because they want Saad to stay.

What's his contract value?

As ruck/kpf depth I would take him at that price. Much better than we are likely to draft with pick 60odd

Wright’s salary is more than $500,000 per year and he has two seasons to run on his deal. But he fell out of favour with Suns coach Stuart Dew in 2020 and didn’t play a senior game.

Why would Dunkley want to go to Essendrug?

That club makes our former history look great.

Good question. I think about this a lot as well. Like why did Shiel and Goddard go there previously? My guess is they somehow still have the allure of the 80s/90s dominance and they still hang their hat on the Sheedy era. And people still buy into the hype?

Still a big Melbourne club. Those blokes came from GWS and Saints. Minnows.

Geelong have offered two first round picks for Jeremy Cameron.

Geelong small forward Lachie Fogarty is open to joining Carlton, according to AFL media's Mitch Cleary.

Collingwood trying to poach Hawk Jack Gunston.

Demon Tom McDonald has interest from Essendon.

Lion Alex Witherden is set to head to the Eagles. West Coast holds Pick 34 and 60, with multiple selections potentially used in an exchange for the utility.

SEN reporting that GWS has knocked this back.

Unless they want an established player in return I would not be knocking back two first round picks. You can trade those for an established player if need be.

2 first rounders plenty as long as they are the Cats first 2.  They will then have picks 10, 11, 13,15 plus another (probably next years first from Bombers) for Caldwell plus 23 for Hately.
They could trade 10/11 plus another later one to Kangaroos for pick 2
They could also try to trade down with the other picks for another inside 10

except if the draft is absolute garbage I spose or you aren't keen on rebuilding just now.
GWS are looking to bounce back into contention so are not keen on arming Geebung with their monster forward.
Geebung are in a window that could quickly slam shut so they are throwing the family jewels at it, smells like desperation to me.
We have been smart who we deal with, basically teams a fair bit off who need some solid footballers with some experience.
They getting youth with grandfinal experience.  Rare as rockinghorse poo.  Hopefully we pull in what we need or get useful picks.

Dodoro and Essendon holding up another trade period ::).

Carlton offering their pick 8 and future 3rd for Saad and Dons' future 2nd. Essendon claiming they need that future 2nd for Caldwell even though GWS want a 1st rounder for him. Then add Dodoro demanding a 1st rounder for Fantasia.
