What will be needed to finish top 4??

With West Coast going to town on GWS, I thought I would look at what we need to do if we want a top 4 spot

Port - 40 points - Sydney, North, Essendon, Collingwood
Brisbane - 40 - Collingwood, Gold Coast, Sydney, Carlton
Geelong - 36 - Dogs, Essendon, Richmond, Sydney
West Coast - 36 - Richmond, Essendon, Dogs, StK, North

Port will win 3. So we can’t catch them. Brisbane should win 3 as well.

I think we genuinely need to win every game to make the top 4.

Richmond - 34 - West Coast, Freo, Geelong, Adelaide

We should be beating Freo and Adelaide. Unless we can win against both Geelong and West Coast we will need plenty of luck.

Our best chances as I can see it are -

Doggies to beat Geelong

West Coast is going to be extremely hard to pass with the game in hand. If we manage to knock them off , then we will still need them to lose another game.

Again the dogs are our chance, or possibly StK?

What are everyone’s thoughts?

One thing I know is percentage won’t impact the quest for a top 4 spot (barring a team above us drawing a game on the run home)

Very small chance now IMO. I think the top 4 gets settled this week if we lose to the eagles

Same as last year. Win our last 4 and we finish top 4. We had to beat top 4 sides Eagles & Brisbane in 2019 in the last two rounds to get there and we did it. Our destiny is in our own hands. Up to us if we are good enough.

Should bank wins against freo and Adelaide although I’m hoping they’ve won a game by then so they don’t come out all guns blazing.

Then it may come down to the cats who I must say have looked impressive recently and very well balanced.

I wouldn't count us out of a top 4 finish - but we need Geelong and WC to have a bit of a slump. Entirely possible given that WC have to travel now and Geelong didn't look convincing against the Crows. They have both been 'up' for a while and are due for a downer. Fingers crossed.

We don’t really need anyone to have a form slump. Our top 4 chances are entirely in our own hands. If we win our last 4 then we finish top4 simple as that.

Worry about ourselves and need to step it up is the current form good enough to win against eagles and cats I don't think so we need more intensity, better skills and pressure and most important efficiency n our 50.

Tonight's game just proves you can't rely on other teams doing you a favour even when they are given a six goal start .

Thankfully, we still have our destiny in our own hands. 3 to go!
