Draft points wise that trade would be too cheap.

Pick 17 (1025 pts) - Pick 36 (502 pts) = 523 pts

That's equivalent in draft points to us receiving pick 35. Too low for Higgins.


Better for us to trade Higgins + Suns' future 3rd for St Kilda's pick 17.

Assuming Gold Coast finish bottom 6 next year, then their future 3rd which we now hold would be approximately pick 42-45 = 350-400 pts.

Pick 17 (1025) - F3 (350-400) = 625-675 pts

That's the points equivalent to the Saints handing us pick 28-30 which is the minimum selling price for Higgins IMO.

Effectively, Higgins & Markov for the Saints' 1st rounder (pick 17).
