The Cats now expected to present Collingwood with pick 25 for Ollie Henry.

Geelong and Gold Coast have just met with the AFL’s head of player movement Ned Guy to thrash out the complex financial terms of the Jack Bowes deal. Still a bit to be worked through but the deal will be finalised this afternoon or early next week

So will we just be upgrading three players from rookie to primary list this draft?

Min. 3 selections including afl draft, pre-season draft and rookie upgrades. Reckon we’ll have atleast one pick in the afl draft, then atleast one rookie upgrade (Pickett) and probably a couple picked up in the rookie draft to replace Pickett and aarts (prob delisted).

The word is the first round or two is good but even after the first few (Ashcroft obviously the standout). Tails off after that although watching the Vic Metro vs Vic Country game there's some decent kids who may end up diamonds in the rough for smart recruiters with a good eye.

Mega trade shaky at best with clubs expecting Port Adelaide to opt out as they look for deals to land Junior Rioli and Jason Horne-Francis @agerealfooty

The AFL have ruled out that "mega trade". You're still not allowed to trade both your future first and future second round picks.

Luke Jackson has been traded to Fremantle in a deal involving GWS.

Melbourne gets pick 13, Fremantle's future first round pick and future second round pick (tied to the Dockers) in exchange for Jackson, picks 44 and 67. GWS gets Toby Bedford.

Why did the Port Adelaide mega trade get blocked?

Did Fremantle just give away their 1st and 2nd future round picks as well as their 1st this year?

They got an additional round 2 pick from north for the logue and tucker deal so they were able to trade their own one out. Port only have their own so can’t trade both their future first and second.
