Confederations Cup with a second string side, knocked over Spain in the Euro U21 final, Germany has always been in the best but they are an absolute powerhouse right now. Majority of their best players play continental Europe and they use their own system. Maybe it's time to stop trying to copy the Dutch system and instead look at the German system.

I read somewhere we've just made an agreement with the German football federation to share and exchange info on coaching, marketing and sponsorship. Reckon we'd be the beneficiaries of that one.  :snidegrin

About 6-7 players not only played themselves into the World Cup squad, but several of them will legitimately push for a starting spot. Machines.

FFA consider Gianni De Biasi to succeed Ange Postecoglou as Socceroos coach post 2018 World Cup.

FFA going outside Australia for our next coach when a year or so ago they were boasting about the quality of Aussie coaches.

Go best available, who cares where they are from. It says that De Biasi never managed outside Italy bar one time in La Liga prior to Albanian job. Would that mean he is very defensive like a typical Serie A and Italian national side?

Massive game coming up on Thursday night against the Samurai in Japan. Absolutely cannot afford to lose this one, a draw should ensure qualification with an easy game against Thailand at home to round off qualification. Japan haven't looked great this campaign either but will be tough to beat or draw with over there. I hope the boys can carry over their confed cup form where they looked very sharp

Massive

Timmy to start?

I don't care about the future just yet, we just need a draw at least from this game or qualification will be a whole lot more difficult.

The japs will be up for this given our history.

Nagatomo, Honda, Kagawa, Yoshida, Haraguchi. That Japanese squad is unreal, they really should be stomping this region. I don't know where their mojo has gone. Massive game this week.

Great result!

Now if we manage to win tomorrow night we qualify no matter what

a draw will see us through if we then win our final game against Thailand at home(should be a given)

Even if we lose, there is still a good chance we qualify if we win our final game by a big margin and have a better goal difference than the saudis, if the saudis lose to japan in the final game(which is likely) then goal difference wont matter and we're through with any type of win over thailand

Clear as mud?
