How good was that! :bow  :bow  :bow

A shame that with that yellow card (nice shirtfront Timmy :lol ) this may be his last World Cup game.

Credit to Ange as well. He's really done his homework on the Dutch and got the team playing to his plan of putting pressure on the Dutch back 3 and not allowing them cut through passes out of defence. The only times we've looked in danger is when we've turned the ball over in defensive midfield and been caught short of numbers backtracking defensively. That's how Robben scored. A lesson in being defensively alert even when you have the ball.

2-2. They've scored from both chances.

2-3. 7 mins left. Can't believe the chances we wasted. Each resulting in a Dutch goal I think.  :banghead

Dutch always had it. No way they weren't going to be able crack our porous defence enough times to do the job. If we'd scored 3 they would've scored 4. Cat & Mouse like Geelong & Fremantle v Richmond.

...and Matt Ryan's simply not up to this level. May as well have picked Liam Reddy.

3 defensive mistakes and 3 Holland goals. That was why we lost. Both defences were poor but they had the class up front to take their chances while we didn't apart from that piece of magic from Timmy. That Oar/Leckie opportunity should've ended up in the back of the net to regain the lead and then we hand the Dutch the winner on the counter thanks to a keeper error.

Proud of the Socceroos and they way they have played for most of both games (credit to Ange) but they've learnt some harsh lessons in this World Cup. Hopefully for the young guys which make up the bulk of the squad it'll be valuable lessons for Russia in 4 years time.

As for Timmy - thanks for the World Cup memories  :bow  :clapping. If Spain beats Chile we still have a chance to finish second in the group  :o but with Cahill missing and our back 4 frailties, it's extreme wishful thinking.

Yep, Langerak is the best Aussie keeper.
