A League has produced jackshizen players ... even the coach is leaving, hes seen the writing on the wall already. FFA executive should resign- theyre hopeless.
That's why Borussia Dortmund paid a good price for Mitch Langerak and why Tommy Oar, Michael Zullo and Adam Sarota are off to Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie  :wallywink. Ramps the reason the Socceroo talent is thinning out is because like the draft in the AFL you pay now for neglecting kids 5-10 years ago. The NSL and Soccer Australia in the last years of its existence 2000-2004 was a broke basketcase.

I only rate Langerak and Rukuvytsa from the youngsters. The rest are average. 80%+ of the squad chosen by the coach for the world cup were developed by NSL clubs- FACT!
Schwarzer - Marconi ...... playing OS at 22
Federici - AIS ................ playing OS at 18
Jones -    Bayswater City (non-NSL)...playing OS at 18

Chipperfield - Wollongong Wolves ....playing OS at 26
Carney - Everton ............ playing OS at 16
Neill - AIS ...................... playing OS at 17
Beauchamp - Marconi/Parra/Olympic/CCM (AL)...... playing OS at 25 ...... returning to A-League (Heart)
Moore - AIS ................... playing OS at 17 .................returned to play A-League (Brisbane)
Milligan - Northern Spirit/Sydney FC/Newcastle Jets (AL) ... playing OS at 24
Wilkshire - AIS/Wollongong Wolves (youth) ..... playing OS at 17

Grella - Canberra/Carlton ...... playing OS at 19
Valeri - AIS ..........................playing OS at 18
Culina - Sydney Utd/Olympic .. playing OS at 20 ......... has returned to A-league (GCU)
Jedinak - Sydney Utd/CCM (AL) .playing OS at 20 then returned within a year and left again at 25
Cahill - Sydney Utd (youth) ..... playing OS at 17
Holman - Parramatta .............. playing OS at 18
Vidosic - Brisbane Roar (AL) .... playing OS at 20
Bresciano - Carlton ................. playing OS at 19
Emerton - AIS/Olympic ........... playing OS at 21
Garcia - West Ham ................. playing OS at 18

Rukavytsya - AIS/Perth Glory (AL) .... playing OS at 22
Kennedy - Carlton ........................... playing OS at 18
Kewell - Marconi (youth) .................. playing OS at 16

Add Williams (Middlesbrough) who just missed out due to injury and Oar was too young. Both non-NSL.

LOL @ 80%  :wallywink. Lucky if it's 50% and that's including youth teams of NSL clubs so many of them didn't play in the NSL itself. Actually the AIS has done not too badly when you look at it. If we're going to include NSL youth teams then remember there's an A-League youth league but it's going to take longer than 5 years before these juniors crack into the Socceroos.

LOL - HAHAHAHAHAHA

Your list shows the complete failure of the A League HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Australian soccer is rooted because the A League clubs havent produced enough players over the last 6 years. Thats pretty apparent by your list. By the way it makes no difference when players went overseas, before they were overseas where were they? Thats right they were being developed by NSL clubs and their affiliates. I still stand by my 80% number. The A Leagues number is what exactly 2 out of 23 lol.

:rollin

The NSL produced what just a dozen or so World Cup Socceroos in 27 years  :help and none while the NSL existed  :help. The sport had to reform itself before we made it. Come back in 20 years and we'll see how many kids via the current youth system end up Socceroos playing in World Cups in that time. It'll sure be more than a dozen or so in 27 years :lol.

Socceroos 2-1 down in the first half. Both teams struggling defensively could be 4-4 after 35 mins.

Socceroos lose 3-1 to the USA in their last warm up game before the World Cup.

Defensive frailties need to be amended fast!

Not the best result before thier first game against Germany next week. :-\

Not surprised with Moore and Grella in the starting 11.  Both are utter rubbish.

Nope, will be a bleak tournament for the Aussies with a quick exit. Pim has already organised his tickets to get to ride the Marrakesh express.

It all starts tonight (well the tournament anyway). Not looking forward to Monday morning and the German strikers and attacking mids dancing around our slow and short centre backs  :help.

you dont play 100 games in the middle of the park in Seria A if you are 'rubbish'.

Vincenzo Grella is a good footballer. why would blackburn pay 12+ million dollars for him otherwise ..
