but the Italians may do diving con jobs in games and cause some serious damage.

Italy hasn't won a diving medal in the Olympics since 1980.

I suppose that because all their best divers play soccer?

Serbs were cheated. One goal that was a clear goal and a clear penalty. The Serbs and not Ghana should have gone through!

what was the clear penalty Ramps? Surely your not talking about the handball that had them jumping up and down.

stuff those pricks and to all those loser Serbs from Melbourne Park who wrecked havoc at the open well gee it would've been so sweet seeing them last night. They took the Aussies for granted and laughed at us now they look worse than us.

i cant tell you how much i enjoyed watching Serbia not go through knowing Ghana did.

Aussies did well and in a tough group should hold their heads high

Same here Tucky. Diego working his magic  :o.

LOL Italy finishing below NZ and out of the world cup  :lol.

Bad luck to the Kiwis. Undefeated over their 3 games against the likes of Italy and Paraguay is a great effort for a small and non-traditional soccer nation  :clapping.

I think Brazil are probably the best team.

With Lucio and Julio Cesar they probably have the best defender and goalkeeper in the world at the moment, which is rare for a Brazil team.

My early take on the round of 16....

Uruguay vs Korea
USA vs Ghana

Softest 4. Socceroos would've ended up in here if we had got through so a missed opportunity for us :P. There's going to be some very fortunate semi-finalist in a week or so's time.

Holland vs Slovakia
Brazil vs Chile/Spain/Swiss

If Spain finishes second in tonight's final group matches then two of Brazil, Holland and Spain could be knocked out before the SFs  :o.

Argentina vs Mexico
Germany vs England

Another "group" of death on the way to the SFs. The Poms two most hated rivals in the Argies and Gerry. Fleet Street will have a field day with daily headlines of historical racial taunts and stereotypes  :yep.

Paraguay vs Japan
Portugal vs Chile/Spain/Swiss

Spain will be hoping to finish top of their group tonight to avoid Brazil and Holland. Iberian neighbours Portugal will be a preferred opponent

Spain are the Stkilda football club of world soccer. They are a joke.

always promise so much yet fail all the time. Team of champions but like the Poms cant work together.

I personally hope Chile do them over tonight as their style of football is unbelievable to watch. Really exciting stuff.

Italy please like watching a bunch of sissies try out for acting roles at Ramsay Street.

Never enjoyed watching those softies lose as much as i did last night. Icing would've been if NZ made it through.

Interesting isn't it? It seems the old saying that "a champion team will beat a team of champions" rings true across all sports and is still as valid today as it ever was. Think I'll just leave it at that.  ;)

LOL at the description of the Italian team.

Uruguay will now cruise into the semis. Sheesh I can't believe Ghana are in the final 8. What a missed opportunity by the Socceroos  :(.

I have a feeling Ghana will get to the semis purely based on the fact that the WC being staged in Africa means Ghana will have the continent behind them in support. It's abit like the Korea bandwagon in the 2002 World Cup in Asia. They will somehow beat Uruguay probably by penalties.
Then they'll be outplayed by Argentina/ England/ Germany in the semis.

It has so far.

Both teams defenses very shakey. Germans slicing England's backs to go two up (first goal a U10s error from the Neuer's long ball lol) and then as usual a West Ham player has to save England against Germany  ;) to get one back.

England then massively ripped off of a clear equalizer. Blind freddy could see the ball bounced in the middle of the goal and the stupid ref said it didn't go in  :lol. Laughable not to have a video referee in the 21st century  :wallywink.

Deutschland 2-1 up at half-time.

That side that basically ended our world cup are looking pretty good.
