Oman's 2nd was an "own goal" I believe   :o

Yep

Pathetic

30 mins to decide if they want to go to Brazil.

Tough games to come against Iran, Japan if they lose

As you know I don't follow the soccer

So if they lose tonight they are out or does it just mean it becomes harderto qualify?

You follow it as much as me but yes makes it hard

3 games left
Japan away
Jordan/Iran home

Japan are through which means Aust will fight out the last spot with Oman and Jordan. All 3 are very close on points with 3 games left.

Will go down to the wire if they make it

Also WP forgot to mention if they don't make the top 2, they will fight for qualification against 5th best Sth American team, like Uruguay those years back.

Another tough ask.

disgraceful performance almost as bad as the greek performance against bosnia. neither australia or greece deserve to go to the world cup. not good enough to go and nowhere near it ability wise.

I just tuned in 11 minutes into the game and Oman already 0 -1 up.

Are you sure it's live on SBS  :huh

Following the scores on twitter and they were saying 15 odd minutes ago it was nearly half time?

I thought it said it was live on the tv ad for it. If it's not live sorry my mistake in saying it was.

Just got back, good night out.

Soft first goal to Oman on the counter with their first real taste of possession, before and after that it was all Australia.

The own goal and their keeper (who plays in the EPL) kept the scoreline respectable for them, coulda shoulda been about 5-1. Watched Timmy in the warm-up nail header after header from crosses, they say practice makes perfect, well there's only 1 Timmy Cahill and we are screwed when he hangs them up, if we are not already. Any defence worth their salt encrusted sacks wouldn't have let him get anywhere near half of the chances he had tonight.

Brosque and Archie Thompson are useless baps, Brecia is well past it, thank poo he got injured and got subbed off after coming on as a sub himself.

The time wasting by these sand greasers and the racism of the refs towards us poor ethnic hotpots down here in the ass hole of the world is a stuffing disgrace. It's tough enough trying to play a girl's game that goes entirely against our national identity with the dregs of our athletic talent without having to put up with that poo.

Still have a game in hand on the rest of the group but we're now a bee's prick away from missing out on Brazil. I for one do not want to miss out on the barbeque meats and brown cha chas on offer over there.

In the other game in our group, Jordan beat Japan, so the Aussies are now third.

Group B

Japan    6    4    1    1    14    4    +10    13
 Jordan    6    2    1    3    6    12    −6    7
---------------------------------------------------------------
 Australia    5    1    3    1    6    6    0    6
--------------------------------------------------------------
 Oman    6    1    3    2    6    9    −3    6
 Iraq    5    1    2    2    4    5    −1    5

Wasn't a fan of Pim but had to laugh when he said Archie Thompson was pretty much worthless. That was one thing he got right. Embarrassing how he is somehow getting a game

The two teams who finish third in each Asian group go into a two legged home and away play off against each other for the right to play the winner from yep South America. Ouch. :help
Currently Australia are 3rd in their group as are Iran.
