Matildas lost to Japan 1-0 in their qtr final this morning

Disappointing it was a late goal

But fantastic effort by the ladies

Now Mr Lowy & FFA pay them some decent coin rather than a pathetic $600 a game.

Given we were 4-0 up within half an hour, it was a pretty meh performance for the rest of the game against a minnow where the ball rarely crossed the halfway line into Australia's defensive half.

At least for half an hour Mooy would have stopped looking like he's about to cry.

5-0 was a disappointing scoreline but very happy to see Rogic back and injury free, Ikonomidis will be a star, there is some serious talent coming through

Socceroos lost in Jordan 0 - 2.

A 47th minute penalty and a late conceded goal due to pushing for an equaliser.

The Joeys have snuck into the knockout stage of the U17's World Cup as one of the best 3rd placed sides. Play Nigeria in the round of 16 and if they get through that then they'll most likely have to face Brazil in the quarters.

Nigeria are a high seed I'd be guessing?

The answer is definitely yes after the Nigerians put 6 past the Joeys yesterday morning :help. Back to reality it seems after the surprise win over Argentina.

The win over Argentina wasn't close to what it was spruiked as.

Argies lost all 3 games and finished with 1 goal for and 8 against.

Put simply, we were the only game where the Argies came close.
