CUB, looks like the ref is showing why you hate soccer  ;). The soccer board on BF is going nuts over the refereeing. The Japanese player that went off on the stretcher for which Grella got sent off apparently came straight back on  ::).

Penalties are a crap way to decide major international matches but them the rules. At least we'll go out now and hopefully get a proper overseas coach who won't play Sydney favourites.

Poor effort by Kewell in the shootout. He looked stuffed after 5 minutes on the ground.

Australia will always have a tough time in Asia with Asian confederation refs. The send off was a joke, most of the decisions against us were very questionable. It was a brave performance but they were let down early in the shootout.

The Aussies aren't doing too badly even though they're 1-0 down with 20 minutes to go. The Argentines are all class but we've had enough decent chances to score a goal ourselves.

FORMER Dutch and South Korea national coach Dick Advocaat is set to be named the Socceroos' new mentor. The announcement is set to be made on November 17.
