Jagga Smith no where to be seen. FOS looks the goods

...and is also Reid's best mate ..... :shh

Also if true that JAS is a comparison to Sam Walsh then pass for me.

im also sick of hearing the line we have a guaranteed 200 gamer here. There has been some really average players play 200.

I know little to nothing about the draftees, but to me at pick 1, you’re looking for a sure thing. A player that might not have the ceiling that others potentially have but no doubt have a higher floor, so the risk of a bust is much much lower.

We will likely have multiple other first round picks were larger gambles can be made, no need to potentially blow pick 1 on a player that ‘could be anything’ but fizzles out quickly, or worse yet stays on the list for a decade on the hope that they finally break through.

Just my 2cents.

Guarantee you Smith will win the rising star next year if we overlook him - because the media flogs who vote for it will make a point of it. :shh

Pretty sure that was Melbourne's thinking (thank god) when they left Dusty for us at pick 3.

If he’s going to be as good as Sam Walsh with his back issues then it’s a buy for me. Walsh was huge in last year’s final series, won the Gary Ayres and then had problems with his back. Seems like Blues rushed him back this year and he’s not been able to get back to his 2023 year.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

walsh is a very good safe player, that is all walsh is.

they have 1 more year to win a flag with Cripps. Without Cripps they are cooked.

Quite possibly but you make a reasonable point in that we shouldn't be drafting who we think k is going to win the rising star. We want the next Brownlow and Norm Smith medalist ceiling player and the rest is down to development. Been plenty of Rising star flops.

FOS has been described as like Walsh but with very good aerial skills.

Fos has a far higher ceiling than Jagga.
