Was unlucky seeing el Nour go down. He appeared to be tracking well in the VFL.
Surely we will be looking at needs rather than potential to cover the rest of this year. Potential will come with round one pick this year.  :rollin

Why?
stuff needs
We need to finish bottom two
Not improve and finish 14th or something ridiculous

Potential is surely a smarter long term option

Pick three and see if we can fluke one

AFL Mid-Season Draft: Top picks and draft bolters

Jasper Chellappah
ESPN
May 27, 2024,

Pick 2: Richmond

The Tigers' injury crisis worsened over the weekend with Tylar Young suffering an ACL rupture in the VFL, meaning the club has four selections. They're only set to use two of those picks, however.

Payne should be considered if North surprise at pick one, but it's more likely that Scaife or Jacob Blight are targeted here. Scaife would add much-needed key forward competition given Noah Balta's move to defence and Jacob Koschitzke's successful defensive swing in the VFL. Jacob Blight is the best key defender in the pool, with the 23-year-old Peel product taking 13 marks against the SANFL state side two weekends ago.

Former Power big man Brynn Teakle would provide ruck depth given Sam Naismith's heartbreaking knee injury, but the Falcons' Joe Pike could prove the better long-term prospect to eventually usurp captain Toby Nankervis.

Who is your club likely to pick in the mid-season draft?

Marc McGowan
The Age
May 28, 2024

Ex-Power ruckman Brynn Teakle, who has interest from multiple clubs including Richmond ... [has] also asked for a longer [18-month] deal.

The Tigers just lost Sam Naismith to a fourth ACL rupture after trading Ivan Soldo to Port Adelaide last year, with Samson Ryan backing up captain Toby Nankervis in the ruck at the weekend.

They are also keeping an eye on Hawthorn’s Next Generation Academy big man Iliro Smit, ...., with Richmond tipped to pick Peel Thunder intercept defender Jacob Blight or Collingwood VFL forward Jack Hutchinson.

Damo gets it
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Jacob Blight (Peel Thunder)

“A 23-year-old key defender. If Richmond want him, they probably take him with Pick 2.”

Richmond could also be in the mix for Teakle after losing back-up ruckman Sam Naismith to an ACL injury. The Tigers hold Pick 2 in the mid-season draft.

Hutchinson, if he makes it past Richmond at No.2, could be in West Coast’s sights, with the Tigers likely to strongly consider key-position talents such as the VFL Magpie, as well as the intercepting Blight and strong-marking Scaife.
