Will play round 1 😉 :shh

Wow
What an out there prediction

Of course he should

He should not be automatic, he needs to earn it over pre season as does the rest of squad.

Otherwise you develop entitled brats.

No need to choose to be an hole Damo.

Have you thought my reaction might be a bit different because it’s coming from

“Mr Inside Word”
“Mr Scoop”

Who really has NFI

But even a wacko monkey will eventually hit bullseye if it throws enough darts at the board

Lol I know I get it

3. JOSH SMILLIE ($176,500 MID)

The Tigers will have to turn to their youth this year and that means Josh Smillie could play a huge role for Adem Yze’s side. Smillie has a unique ability to play anywhere on the ground, but largely plied his trade as an on-baller in 2024. A big-bodied midfielder who thrives at the coalface, Smillie is also a competent forward which means he is a very high chance of featuring early on this season.

“We have a pretty big group of guys who are all pretty young so it has been said it is on us if we really want to put this franchise where they should be for the future. We are as excited as ever.” - Josh Smillie

Glad he's pumped to be a Tiger and wants to part of making us successful again, but we just need to remind the young bloke that we're a Club not a "franchise".

Josh Smillie Injury Update

Richmond confirms that first-year midfielder Josh Smillie will not be available for the opening rounds of the 2025 AFL season.

Smillie has not progressed as well as hoped through recent training sessions, so the Club is taking a cautious approach to the next steps of his rehabilitation.

“Repeat scans have shown that while Josh has not re-injured his hamstring, it has not healed as well as we would have liked,” Richmond High Performance Manager, Ben Serpell said.

“Rather than push him towards those early games, we will ensure he has a good block of training and strength work behind him before he returns to play.”

So clearly you'd prefer we rush him back, play him, he tears it off the bone and misses 15 weeks?

They stuffed up in 2024 for bringing blokes too soon ornot getting their rehab right

This is a kid in his first season. It is about the long term not his first season

Seriously I don't get what your issue is outside of wanting to smash the new S&C bloke ...

Well that wiped the Smillie off my face….
"The money might have been better. But, at the end of the day, Richmond showed faith in me. It's only fair that now we're 18th on the ladder, I show the faith back in the club and do everything I can to put them in front. In the end, I'm stoked I made the decision to stay. I f***ing love this club”

Disagree

If he was pushing the kid, over loading him so he gets injured again the we'd have every right to be peeved

But he's doing exactly the opposite... the scan says the hammy isn't healed properly then common sense tells you to pull up and be cautious and get it right

"Hamstring awareness" and "should be right for Collingwood"  is now round 3 at the earliest ...another "minor niggle"  becoming a weeks long setback - will he also be listed as "TBC" or  "2-3 weeks"  for 6 months like blokes were last year? Agree we should be ultra conservative with injuries and that's always been my stance but why lie about it? Just more red herrings from the club - same shyte different d*ckhead... :shh

Are we even going to be able to name any of our draftees from last season for round 1 at this stage?
