I can’t work why these guys think we would recruit a back flanker , who doesn’t look that special when Sharp or Cummings will be available . I can understand Grlj as he is fit for purpose but Taylor   Just doesn’t make sense to me.

Agree on Sharp but I would take Taylor over both Cummings and Grlj. Taylor is 191cm but he could still shoot up a few cms and be a true KPD. If not he can still play as an undersized KP, third tall or most likely the interceptor quarterback or even a wing. By all accounts he is strong congested mark with an excellent kick. Grlj is an athletic speed demon and while I agree we need to inject some pace, taking him 5-8 picks earlier than what he’s rated just for that would be silly. Can always target speed in the next drafts. Cumming is a similar profile to Robey as that modern hybrid fwd/mid so I can’t see us taking both.

I just think in draft 2 of a rebuild with such early picks you take the best available talents and worry about fitting them all into the team later. While we’re all excited about last years crop there’s  no garauntees than any/all of Lalor, Smillie, Hotton, Faull, Armstrong, Sims, Alger will make it. Think it’s risky to pass on Sharp just because you think you’ve already filled that spot with Smillie.

Warming to either Sharp, Robey or Cumming.  Add Leray & Kellaway and I'll be very happy

I can’t see us trading picks. I don’t think Essendon or the dees are desperate enough to trade their top2 picks for 1 of ours and Defo won’t give us 1 and their first next year.

If eagles take CDT at 2 like I expect then I think we’re most likely taking Robey at 3 and Taylor at 4. If not Taylor then I’d say Sharp is next most likely. If they are to pass on CDT at 2, I actually think they will go for Sharp and if that were to happen, we’d snap up CDT at 3 and Robey at 4.

Not buying the Grlj talk. Legit based on us not drafting any mids with blistering speed last year, and everyone has just run with that. If he is rated somewhere 10-15 like most agree, it would be seriously looney and short sighted to pick him ahead of 5/6 players ahead of him.

Growing smoke it'll be cumming at Richmond

We've spoken with Archie Ludowyke as has most clubs.

“I’ve spoken to most clubs, I’ve only not spoken to Gold Coast and Brisbane,” Ludowyke continued.

November Power Rankings - Top 50 + Best State League Prospects | Craft of the Draft

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJ0o1aiiYOE

1 - Willem Duursma
2 - Zeke Uwland
3 - Dylan Patterson

4 - Sullivan Robey
Eastern Ranges
Forward/Midfielder
HEIGHT: 192cm

The best draft story of the year. Robey's rise from local footy at Rowville to the Eastern Ranges after missing Dandenong's list as a 16-year-old has been well told. Powerful, explosive, strong and exciting, he's most comfortable as a connecting, marking half-forward who takes his chances in front of goals. At the time of writing, the gut feel is Richmond is Robey's most likely destination, but could be selected by West Coast with their second selection if the draft order remains the same, which would be incomprehensible.

5 - Cooper Duff-Tytler
6 - Dan Annable
7 - Harry Dean

8 - Xavier Taylor
Eastern Ranges
Defender
HEIGHT: 191cm

The lifelong Richmond fan bases his game on Nick Vlastuin and Nathan Broad and is being considered by Richmond with one of their two top five selections given he will likely be best available. A best-afield outing in the Coates Talent League grand final capped a season of terrific growth for the intercepting rebounder, whose clean skills, creativity and run have been consistent features of a brilliant 2025 campaign.

9 - Sam Cumming

10 - Sam Grlj
Oakleigh Chargers
Midfielder
HEIGHT: 182cm

Some had him pushing towards the top five mid-year before a quieter U18s National Championships, where he skippered Vic Metro, brought him back to the pack. A strong stint for Richmond VFL, where his tenacity showed through, and a return to his devastating, overlap-running, speedy best late in the Coates Talebt League season reinforced what he could offer. Suits a lot of clubs in this range of the draft and could be selected as high as Richmond's opening two picks.

ps. No Kellaway in their top 50.

What happened to Fred Rodriguez? Could have sworn he was being talked about as a top5 pick at the start of the year, now he’s pushing out to 40-50.
