Seem to be going OK this pre season Coburg, hopefully they can take it into the season and give our youngsters winning habits.

Yep Coburg has had good preseason results:

Bendigo   L7
Box Hill   W39
Bullants  W16
Werribee W33

Hopefully they can produce this form in the season proper with the Richmond boys putting pressure on the seniors for spots.

got out to coburg at 1/4 time

kingie presented well in the second 1/4 and then had a shower.

tuck played well, moved onto the ball in the last 1/4 and drove the tigers home. could have done with that on thursday.

nason looked short of a run but linked up well in the last.

grimes played really well. I think we have a footballer of the future there.

Miller is going to be a good acquisition for coburg. presented well and kicked 6 or so i think.

thursty also had a shower at 1/2 time, i think.

post was OK

taylor couldn't get into the game untill the last 1/4 where he did some nice work.

webberly was there abouts.

Browne actually did ok around the ground, but i dont recall him feeding anyone with true tap work.

contin moves well in traffic but it took me a while to identify him so i cant say how much of the ball he actually got.

didnt notice dea much but again, i dont know his head.

Although the overall skills standard is not as high, it was a more enjoyable game to watch than that poo served up last night.

Daw didnt dominate by any stretch of the imagination though

Thanks Al good stuff mate.

So Thursty, Tuck, King and Miller might be in line for call ups next week...MIGHT BE. I think we need Thurstys height down back and Tucks grunt in the middle.

Great report al. Cheers  :cheers.

Coburg      3.2   10.5   11.6     19.11-125
Werribee   4.1     5.3   10.13   13.14-92

Obvious question: Was the breeze the main factor for the widely changing scores at each quarter break?

Despite his six goals, I'm hoping we resist the temptation to bring Miller into the seniors and stick with getting as many AFL games into the cubs.

yeah the wind played a factor. It didnt seem to be blowing that strong but kicks were travelling a lot further to the scoring end.

On miller, i think (hope) the fact that he has been given number 6 while all the other richmond players get numbers in the 40s and higher shows that he is destined to play mainly at coburg as long as the younger blokes are fit enough and form warrants selection with richmond.

Is Derickx injured?

not sure. Just after half time a group of young blokes in coburg gear came back from the direction of the leisure center.

I think one of them was derrickx and assume they all played in the seconds and were up there doing their recovery, but thats only guessing.

Mcdonald was in shorts and a long sleeve top watching the seniors game when i turned up so not sure if he played at all

If Derickx did play Coburg ressies then no wonder we want our own stand alone side in the VFL.

Didn't Derrickx get injured in the practice match vs Bullants - bruised heel maybe?
