I stated in another thread( dont know where) that the NAB incentive -top 15 was a dumb idea. If it was that good, why didnt we have 15 goers out there today  showing something.
Didnt see Geelong go to the press and boast about there training. For what its worth the Cats cruised today, ran in numbers and all looked very fit.
On the other hand, we had very little hard running
The Cats didnt need some gimmic to get them up and running.

And apart from winning a NAB Cup recently, what pray tell has Geelong achieved?  A win against the Tiges in a practice match.  Big stuffing deal.  I'd be judging the fitness schedule at the end of the year, not now.

I hate going to that "venue" it is a joke in itself  :banghead

I have to say the thing that disppointed me the most today and lets be honest there was a lot of things that could and did disappoint but the one thing that had me doing this  :banghead :banghead :banghead over and over again was our .....................

TACKLING - more to the point our inability to hold a Geelong bloke in a tackle.

With the exception of Foley, Tuck and to a lesser extent Raines, Polo and Brown - the opposition broke free from tiger tackles way way too easily. It was the one thing I've always thought we needed to improve over the summer but today there didn't seem to be any improvement at all  :help The geelong blokes looked massive next to us and that worries me too.

As for our skills - goodness, gracious me :gobdrop shocking

Only prob with that is that everyone at Richmond says that the NAB 15 is fantastic and the playing group is well advanced.
Well we havent even played a game before today and players are going down like nine pins.
Injuries Johnson, Kingsley, Coghlan( might add kept training when they knew he had problems ) JON, Hall, Simmo, P Bowden,Schultz,

I tend to agree Moi - it was only the NAB cup but gee it was ordinary.

I reckon though, Geelong were up for this game because they are more than likely going to be the team most under the microscope in 2007. And let's remember Geelong did win the NAB cup last year and fell in hole bigger than the hell hole venue they call their home ground ;D

Another reason why you shouldn't mouth off. When we came out about how good the idea was most of these blokes (except for JON and Cogs) weren't injured and had done the full preseason up to that date. Last week there was no NAB 15 gimmic and training was light but we still lost Sugar and Paddy.

I never said that the NAB thing was a good idea, I personally think is terrible idea.
Reason being the most first year players cant handle there first pre-season anyway(Except Lids) and by round 15 they are spent. So why encourage them to push hard early, Flags arent won in Feb, usually September accordingly to Roos and Worsfold.

Tucky kept bouncing off Steven King and the ump would ping him for sheparding  :P.

Knobel isn't the answer either. After a centre bounce tap we're effectively a man less on the field.

Sugar has a slight calf strain according to the Hun. No mention of what's wrong with Paddy.
