Our skill level was just appalling. Why do we consistently kick to an open player to his feet or on the half vollet and can't hit someone on the chest. Bowden even had a few clangers in the backline. Just was a bad day overall. Only positive if I can call it that was we won the second half in the end even though the cats did take the foot off the pedal in the last quarter. Look we have not won a first round NAB cup game under Wallace and have improved each season. The signs were not good but all is not lost. Yet.

On a side note Brown's first goal in the third quarter should that have been a 9 pointer. Can't remember who took the mark in the centre but a free kick was relayed down the ground to Brown who duly converted. Shouldn't that have been a 9 pointer? After all if you are outside 50 and you get a 50 to bring you inside 50 its still 9 points.

I wouldn't take this game seriously.  Only two weeks ago, there was a game at Wongthaggi and half the team was sitting sunbaking in the stands.  If they were seriously about the NAB Cup most of those players would have been out there at least playing a half of footy.  So my take on that is they couldn't care less about this competition.

Having said that, they were pretty pathetic  :banghead

It's just embarrassing, and I'm sick of seeing the Tiges lose.
I was looking forward to this season and now I'm not so sure, I know it's only the NAB cup, but it would of been nice to have some winning momentum going into the season.

And also, I wish someone would tell Polak that defenders dont play from behind either. ::)

If bowden stopped being an intimidating hole maybe Polak will play decently down back.

Jacko and Harts haven't done themselves any favours as 4th year players staying on our list at the end of the year. Mind you they had plenty of teammates.

Jacko wasn't in the original squad of 28. Came in for Sugar. Edwards was the only youngster who was a legit chance but it wasn't as though we needed another small out there today.

It seems once we knew a few guys would miss and we had no fit ruckman we couldn't give a stuff about today. About half a dozen seriously underdone guys out there today.

Simmo, Paddy, Patto and Thursty to come into the side too.

Maybe they are pushing them too hard in training?  :-\

I stated in another thread( dont know where) that the NAB incentive -top 15 was a dumb idea. If it was that good, why didnt we have 15 goers out there today  showing something.
Didnt see Geelong go to the press and boast about there training. For what its worth the Cats cruised today, ran in numbers and all looked very fit.
On the other hand, we had very little hard running
The Cats didnt need some gimmic to get them up and running.
