Riewoldt shoots into Coleman Medal lead

Jack Riewoldt has charged into Coleman Medal contention with his sensational 10-goal haul putting the Richmond spearhead at the top of the goal kicking table with 58 for the year. He was irrepressible from the start, booting 4.3 free in the first quarter to put the Tigers in the box seat early. He left it late to register his double-digit enabling last goal, snapping truly with only two seconds on the clock. If it wasn't for a few gettable misses – Riewoldt also booted six behinds – he could have finished with an even bigger bag.

Where is Tigermonk when you need him?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

please carry this form into the finals and deliver Jack!

He delivered last year in the finals and it wasn't because he was kicking bags of goals

Bit with Dimma on this we don't want him having to kick 10 for us to win

Give me his game(s) against the Cats, Pie or GWS in the prelim anyday over yesterday

Not that Jack will care as another flag will matter far more but it looks like the Dogs' short backline will gift Ben Brown back the lead in the Coleman. He has 3 to half-time.

The Dogs dominating after half-time meant Brown only kicked one more to go level with Jack. Buddy only kicked 2 today as well.

Jack Riewoldt has been the one playing like the marquee man. It may have been against a 17th-placed side, but his dominant performance this week put his season on the map in a way it really should have been a while ago.

In 2018 not only is he averaging his most goals per game in six years, he’s also averaging his most inside 50s per game across the length of his entire career.

Just imagine what life will be like with Tom J Lynch drawing away one of the oppositon’s best defenders for him next year (presumably) and giving him even more space to work in. Equalisation, yippee.
