Jack's manager Liam Pickering on SEN has confirmed Jack is "very, very close" to signing a new deal  :thumbsup.

Pickering provides Riewoldt contract update

By SEN
24 July 2018

Jack Riewoldt’s manager has confirmed negotiations on a new Richmond deal are close to being finalised.

Riewoldt is in career best form for the reigning premiers, and is set to be rewarded with a new Tigers deal.

SEN Breakfast with Garry Lyon and Tim Watson can be heard Monday-Friday 6-9am, and you can subscribe to the podcast here.

“We are working with the club at the moment on trying to finalise Jack,” Pickering told SEN Breakfast.

“(He is contracted) until the end of next year, yeah (we would lock him up for another three years).

“I know exactly what he is worth, I won’t talk about it though.

“We are very very close.

“The reality is, in a premiership team, you can’t have everyone getting 1.2 million.

“If he was to leave and go elsewhere, which he is not, a club would be mad not to throw a bucket of money at him.

“They’ve already re-signed Alex Rance, Jack, Trent Cotchin is not far away, Dustin Martin is obviously done.

“All those guys would be taking a little bit unders than what they’re considered on the open market.”

A Tiger for Life!  :bow  :clapping

Jack is arguably a rare AFL star who is closest to being a supporter as well. You've got to love his passion and love for the Tigers. Deserves all the rewards and success he has and will achieve.

His team Clarence wears Sydney colours, used to be Maroon with a white V

His dad Chris (Cabbage) once  signed a form 4 for the Aints but never came across

Reminds me of Richo, not just because of their comparable position. Loves the club, almost too much you could argue. Deserves all the accolades and success he gets and I'm glad the club rewarded him with success. Great thing is, he'll likely stay involved in the game after his playing career is finished. Hopefully a few more flags for the man for now  :cheers.

One of the all time great Tigers I've ever seen.

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Yep.

I don't care how good Lynch is, or anyone else for that matter, JR8 is irreplaceable.
