Play ever match in 2022, hopefully no injuries and finals. Another Premiership to make it 4/6 would be lovely?

Not new news but here's the confirmation in the media that Jack has re-signed.

Riewoldt, who turns 33 next month, kicked 51 goals this season and has signed on for next year.

Jack wasn't emotional and crying with joy after our 2017 Prelim win.

He swallowed a bug and was trying/hoping to cough it up and spit it out.

51 goals is not to be sneezed at, however his staying means CCJ is more likely to leave, it may have been better if Jack had retired.

Are you serious?

Some people are seriously deluded.

“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

Take a look at Geelongs old brigade. We need to start a succession plan at some stage.

Yep. Jack had a great year but we are one injury short out of those 2 and it’s a bottom finish for us.

We will have no back up at all.

Decisions like the one to give George multi year contracts will come back to bite.
Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

I don't see why we can't play all of Lynch, Jack and CCJ. Just got the make sure we have a good 2-3 chasers in the rest of the forward line.

51 goals and a solid year. Definitely deserved another year. CCJ has bagged 4 against Crapelaide so far.

This seems to be a “keep CCJ” angle. If CCJ had his head screwed on properly, he’d be training hard to be the 2nd ruck choice over Soldo and lap up the lessons learnt from playing alongside a once a generation key forward like Jack.
If he can’t see the benefit in that for one more year before making that position his own in 2023 then see ya bra.
Take the money and run CCJ.

Dont have a problem keeping JR for another season but lets be honest there is absolutely no one else coming thru.

We really need to address the huge need to draft a quality young key forward this coming draft. Even then it will be  three years too late.

People dont get it either. CC-J is not leaving to get KPF opportunities he is leaving to get ruck opportunities which is clearly his primary role.
Imo we are not losing a key forward but a promising ruckman.

Jack Riewoldt has enjoyed a superb career in the yellow and black.

But at 33 and entering his 16th season, is his best behind him? Has Riewoldt got another good year in him?

“He’s got moments of very good in him which will still work for the club,” was Dermie’s snap judgement on the 715-goal forward.
