the lay off with his injury was a given, it was a matter of do we give him the rest of the season off

If Lids was only coming back now then I would still say keep him in cotton wool. Not worth it bringing someone back for the last game when nothing rides on it. As it turned out it wasn't a six week injury as far as not being able to play as first claimed so the right call was made. It would've been silly for Lids to miss the last month for nothing.
