sometimes you dont need good cards to win the poker game, this time we have pick 2 and the first pick in the psd thats not a bad hand at all - if they know how to play the game that is ... if not ... then theyll waste the cards they got and we'll get zippo.

From the Herald-Sun this morning

Mitch Morton, 20, is out of contract and considering a move to Richmond.

Comments from the Eagles forum on Morton

We (Eagles) have told clubs that we want pick 2 to get Cotchin. The best thing about dealing Mitch Morton to Richmond is that locks them into picking Cale Morton with pick 2. That leaves us Cotchin at pick 3 so that should keep us happy.

After Morton's performance in the WAFL Grand Final - TRADE HIM - was pretty average today!

Asking for Coughlan + pick 35 together or pick 19 for Morton

Can Cale Morton not nominate for anything, and we get him in the rookie draft and elevate him instantly?

Nah he has to nominate for the National draft first.

Here are a few 'possible' scenarios for next season:

Scenario #1 [My rating out of 10 - 6/10]
In:
McLean
Reid
N. Brown
Maguire

Out:
Pick 2 - for Reid and N. Brown
Pick 18 - for Maguire

Scenario #2 [6/10]
In:
Judd
M. Morton
C. Morton

Out:
Trade for Morton 3rd rounder?

Scenario #3 [3/10 - McLean gets 3 of the rating points]
In:
Fraser
Didak
Maguire
McLean

Out:
Pick 2 - for Fraser and Didak
Pick 18 - for Maguire

And you may not think I care for you

Krak + Cogs for Judd

chuck useless JON in for a sweetner now thats a good deal
We might need to throw in something else the Eagles would actually want lol.

Ohhhh okay tell them that we will take those trouble makers Kerr and Cousins off their hands but no more!!!! ......Maybe Priddis or Rosa but that is as far as we should be prepared to go on this one!!!!! :lol

McLean would get more than 3 Fraser and Didak have a negative rating.

Scenario #1 would boost our young KPP stocks although I have question marks over the Pies' Brown's kicking though. The Eagles look to have got the better twin.

Scenario #2 is the cheapest option. Judd for "free", a cheap trade and we keep all our picks.

Scenario #3 would give us an instant boost of senior players but it's more a quick fix.

The Pick 2 for Reid and Brown has been doing the rounds but are you allowed to trade new draftees after just one year? Is it simply you can provided you get each kid's permission.

Another scenario from the Blues forum is they give us pick 3 for some token fringe player on the promise we let them take Judd in the PSD.

In: Pick 3, McLean, Maguire
Out: Pick 19, fringe Tiger

We'll then have picks 2, 3, 18, 35 + McLean and Maguire. We can dream  :whistle.

Crikey thats a bit optimistic. I think we would have a better chance of getting the legendary Jim Boogie! I can't see the D's letting McLean go that easily.  Would be nice though.
