Lol this is an example of someone asserting the wrong answer to get the right answer, which is NO thanks. Why would he play for a exit club when he could have walked back into a premiership club

Do we have to publicly say he is delisted given he has retired?

He is a 30-something who hasn't played footy at any level for two years. Essendon showing they are still as desperate and deluded as ever lol.

First list lodgement is this coming Friday

So I reckon he comes off the list officially on Friday

From a flag to the fourth division: Rance ponders footy comeback in Perth

Anthony Colangelo
The Age
January 1, 2021 — 12.53pm

Richmond's former star full-back Alex Rance is in discussions with a fourth-division club in Perth to make a return to footy in 2021.

The five-time All-Australian retired from AFL football prematurely at age 30 in 2019 to spend more time with his family, and to focus more on his Jehovah's Witness faith.

But amateur fourth-division side Swan Valley Football Club is in advanced negotiations with the 2017 Richmond premiership player to run out for a handful of matches for the side in 2021.

Swan Valley's new player-coach is Rance's cousin David Ellard, and a source at the club said they were confident that link would secure them the defender's services.

Ellard played 63 AFL matches for Carlton between 2008 and 2015.

The hope is that Rance could play two or three games or a best-case scenario of five, which would qualify him for finals and help the club move up a division.

They are keen for as many of those games as possible to be home games to attract big crowds, and for Rance's involvement in the club to boost their junior stocks and fuel the return of an under-20s Colts side.

In March 2020 Rance said he was “not going to completely rule out” a return to footy one day.

"I love the game and I love what I have contributed and I am not going to completely rule out the fact that I could come back," Rance told RRR.

"But at this stage I am really happy with the life balance that I have and I don't regret any of my time spent at Richmond because it made me who I am and I am proud of the effort that I put in there to achieve what we did.

"It's a constant thing – this is bad analogy but I am going to use it anyway – it's like being an alcoholic and constantly working at [bottle shop] Dan Murphy's.

"I know that if I go back to playing for Richmond I am going to love it so much and it is going to consume my life and my balance is going to go out again so I am happy where I am at."

Richmond premiership star Alex Rance is locked in for his footy comeback in WA this year, pending border restrictions.

The five-time All-Australian will play back-to-back matches for Perth Football League C2-Grade outfit Swan Valley in rounds four and five, scheduled for May 1 and 8.

It will be a massive boost for the competition, which celebrates its centenary this year.

Yeah we're already going to vote for him mate, you don't need to keep selling it.....

Alex Rance to Geelong via midseason draft rumour (3aw)

YES/NO: You were disappointed to learn Alex Rance is playing lower level footy in WA?

Richo: Yes

Gerard Healy then added that the rumour mill says Geelong plans to pick up Rance in the midseason draft. Richo said he's heard that rumour too.

Good luck to him we have won 2 flags since then and gone strength to strength and Balta has come up we probably used his $$$ to keep our squad to time to move on.

Idgaf if he's playing suburban crap but if he goes to Geelong he can gagf. What a stain on an otherwise unblemished career.

Unless Geelong is last on the ladder, he ain’t going there.
By the time we hit mid season draft, Tigers will most likely be lower on the ladder than the Cats.
Rumours  :whistle
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.
