Has no help from Arsebury  :rollin
Has to do twice as much because he has no one helping.
Best defender by a mile

Ling or Bruce called him the goal keeper - he's more like the sweeper or libro changed the game just a bit.

Playin CHB / FB ,  from the middle of the ground at times , covering strugglers like Houli Chaplin astbury consistently. Pretty amazing to watch

Could be better if he didn't always hae to save his team mates and attack more.

IMHO,  he is our best player, consistent and epitomises the "fight and fight and win" philosophy.

Every time I see him in RFC colours it makes me proud to support our team.

“I think he’s the best player in the competition,” Danny Frawley said on Triple M, following another outstanding performance by Rance, in the Tigers’ win against Collingwood at the MCG last Friday night.

Rance had 26 disposals, including 11 contested possessions, a game-high 10 intercepts, nine rebound-50s and eight marks.

“He is just a freak,” Frawley said.

“He’s actually now going into Scarlett territory, and before him Silvagni . . . and I never thought I’d say that.

“But I think Rance nearly has got them both covered.

“Rance can play small or tall . . .”

Rance is the best defender in the game, by a long way

Richmond may have suffered an agonising loss, but there is no way you could blame star defender Alex Rance. As has been the case for much of this season, Rance was outstanding against the Cats. It's hard to remember the Tigers star losing a one-on-one contest during the game, as he totally nullified Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins, keeping him to one goal, four marks and 14 disposals. Rance's ability to keep his balance in contests and then maintain his composure when the ball hits the deck is peerless in the AFL. Despite the games he missed through suspension, there is little doubt he should be an All Australian for the third time at the end of the season.
