Knew there was a reason I've never rated Tim Paine... :shh

Something makes me feel like there was a lot more to Rance retiring than we will ever know.

 :thumbsup there was.

I know it disappoints folks and there are some who don't want to believe it but there wasn't

Just like the media are making this part time job as more than what it is.

His academy is based out in Tullamarine from memory so it could just be better for him to coach Essendon from there?

Bingo, school is close to bomberland. His academy is still his number one focus, though I know that doesn't suit the media's and people's narrative

"Oh yes I am a dreamer, I still see us flying high!"

from the song "Don't Walk Away" by Pat Benatar 1988 (Wide Awake In Dreamland)

I honestly don't think there is anything to Rance's story.

If there was it'd have come out from a genuine journo by now. Easily. Someone would have been paid off. He's an odd cat Rance, he nearly quit a number of years earlier.

The thing that bothered me was the lack of recognition from team mates and players. Which I think was partially mistakes and partially out of frustration at the decision. If I was Jack or Cltch I'd be crappy. I'd be thinking twice about gloating about his career if he quit at the peak of things.

Hate seeing him at Essendon.

Personally I think there is more to the story which will come to light in the future.

Isn't the future now?

I mean he retired over 2 years ago. Players rumoured involved have left. If anything things would have resurfaced when Hardwick split with Mrs Hardwick as fuel to the flame of off field mucking around.

I love a story as much as the next bloke but it'd have come out by now.

Yep.

I don't really care what this guy is doing these days.

Gun player but has been out of the game for 2 years. If he wasn't finito in 2019 then he sure would be by now you'd think, and as a coach we really have no idea if he'd be a good get or not.

I'd rather Shaun Grigg.

Rance will be charged with coaching key-position players and first-to-four-year youngsters in his new role.

Will be disgusted if he pulls the jumper on. And wouldn't be surprised...

That makes no sense on either level…
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

It’s happening for sure. First coach since the days of player coaches to join in full training.

Maybe he needs the coin after the ex took him to the cleaners

How so?

I will be disgusted.
And I think he's gonna do it.

Bracing myself.

He was a key to making us great again.

Absaeffinglutley critical.

Owes us nothing.

So you'd be fine seeing Dusty, Cotch or Jack playing for Carlton? Or Collingwood?
