So he's not busy because he's never in his office?  Makes you wonder how he has achieved such a fabulous result for the club in his time there then doesn't it?  I don't know what you do for a crust or where you have been in your life but I'll take a guess that with such an ignorant and ill-informed comment, not a lot of it has been spent at the pointy end of corporate town.

And the point of either of these 2 comments?  Pretty sure I never said I knew everyone and pretty sure I've watched football and cricket and union and US baseball from corporate boxes but its never got me one poofteenth of an inch closer to knowing how a CEO operates BUT my time spent as a company director and business manager has given me some significant insights - your comments are ill-informed and ignorant - my original point.

Fabulous result, you getting to sound like Terry Wallet.
I will take you to task here.
The worst 2 decisions made in this decade at the RFC were to honour Danny Frawleys contract and to give the other clown( wallet) a 5 year contract UNCONDITION!.
ASK Steve Wright about Terry Wallets KPI,s and he will look at you with a blank face  and start talking about another issue.
Corporate World. How on earth do you pay Wallet $600,000 a year with no KPI,s and UNCONDITIONAL!
As for his success of the Grand Prix, dig a bit deeper in regards to losses my friend ;)

Those are 2 entirely conflicting statements mate

In order to avoid ending up with another unproven tool like Frawley, the price we had to pay was a 5 year deal with Wallace.

1) No coach with any experience or track record was going to coach us without some security
2) Frawley had left us in such a state that a new coach needed 2 years just to clean up the mess

Even if Wallace gets sacked at the end of the season, it was still the right decision at the time.

Steve Wright has engineered the turnaround (financially) of the basket case that was the RFC balance sheet.  We can debate for hours on the importance or otherwise of watching $$'s as opposed to winning premierships but one isn't coming without the other and the finances had to be fixed first.  The Frawley decision was made bad before Wright had anything to do with it - his contract was extended by the board (remember the name Casey if you want to travel the blame path) on the back of some encouraging but misleading signs early on.  The decision to honour the contract was made with zero regard to finances - it was purely a tactical strategy to strengthen our position when his contract was up and we needed a replacement.  And every single coach in the AFL operates under a no KPI scenario - the closest any of them come to operating that way is to get bonuses for certain ladder finishes/finals etc - nothing like true KPI's as you and I know them in the 'real' world.  Don't care for the losses at the Grand Prix - it's irrelevant and you could mount a very very strong case that he was dealing with a poisoned chalice - maybe he did a fantastic job to reduce the losses to what they were?  The outcomes of his performance at Richmond (which is all that matters) are there for all to be seen in our balance sheets and that is one of your favourites - a FACT.

Can tell you that I know of at least 4 coaches who have KPI,s attached to there employment, these vary from club to club and you are right to a ceratin degree in regards to position on ladder although other aspects to come into play.

Spot on 1980.

If we are talking KPIs, Wallace's main one when he started was rebuilding the trainwreck of a list for long-term success. It's another reason why Plough got a 5 year contract. It'll be up to the club in 18 months time to judge whether Plough has done that and then judge if he is the right coach to take the next step.

You say that main reason that Wallace got the 5 year contact was due to KPI,s in regards to rebuilding. ::)
I will explain something for you. The club sets ( well supposedly sets the KPI,s  not the EMPLOYEE, in this instance WALLET)  The club hasnt set any KPI,s for this clown.
KPI,s are measured on a yearly basis Re: performance review.
Example being. Communication with staff members etc etc
