You would think we will sell quite a few at the Family Day this Sunday to give another quick boost. An amazing effort to be 5,000 (6 if you include non-ticketed) ahead of this time last year.

Whats really pleasing is that we have clearly broken away from most clubs and we are starting to gap clubs like Geelong and St Kilda as well. We are still a very very big club.

The same Geelong guy later said in that BF thread we should be aiming for 40k ticketed members along with Coll, Haw, Carl, Ess and Geelong. Your prediction is looking good Ramps  .

These figures just once again the "official" figures the AFL spits out each year are meaningless. I just saw that Collingwood have a 2-game ticketed membership apparently yet our 2-game MCC Tigers membership is class as non-ticketed. It's farcical!

Whats really pleasing is that we have clearly broken away from most clubs and we are starting to gap clubs like Geelong and St Kilda as well. We are still a very very big club. 

And still a very big club despite being crap onfield for almost 3 decades. There's still a latent bandwagon supporter base to hop on board once we start making finals regularly. If we're potentially able to reach 40k ticketed this year plus 10k non-ticketed then you'd imagine a 60k+ total membership isn't out of realms of possibilty with some success .

You'd think the fact that we seem to have 3000 more non ticketed members than the other clubs would be those memberships bought by opposition supporters because of Cuz. Doubt you could count on them all year in year out.

The Cousins WA Eagles supporter element needs to be taken into account, but I dont believe that 3000 eagles supporters have joined up, maybe 300 maybe 400 maybe 500-600 tops.

As for me, I joined up today, better late than never. A good night vs Collingwood in the NAB Cup could see our membership go through the roof.

This was the Geelong guy's answer to why we have more non-ticketed members:

They have more categories of unticketed membership packages. Maybe half of those unticketed members go to games as part of the paid membership. Possibly 2-5 games a year. I think most clubs have these type of memberships but they count them as ticketed. The tigers may be the equivalent of 28,000 ticketed at this moment. They had something like 9,000 non ticketed members last year. Possibly 4,000 of those could be considered ticketed maybe which would have given them 35,000 ticketed last year.

The hawks and tigers have improved alot. The tigers really should narrow their categories of non ticketed packages. They'd probably get another 2,000 ticketed if they did.

50,000 MEMBERS/FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTORS would be an amazing result. AND WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF HITTING THIS NO. IMHO.

There are only 2 categories of Richmond memberships which are non-ticketed.
Tiger Insider will never be ticketed. It doesn't give entry to any games.
MCC Tigers will never be ticketed. Gives entry to our 2 TD home games but you have to be an MCC member to purchase it and MCC members don't need finals tickets.

Ticketed means the membership has access to finals tickets.
Non-ticketed means no access to finals tickets.

If the numbskulls at the AFL just counted non-ticketed there wouldn't be any issue. Non-ticketed is as much a member as ticketed.

Edit: Changed MCC Tigers to 2 TD home games. Forgot we sold our other TD home game to Carrara.

Non ticketed has probably become a really important part of the clubs budget revenue wise. It also seems to be a growing area of the club, with numbers increasing year on year. 8000 @ $75 a year = $600,000 a year. Thats the annual profit pretty much right there.

You're right Ramps the old saying "money for jam" comes to mind (ditto the pet memberships).

I know of a couple of people who are "ticketed" members but have a Tiger Insider membership as well ....

Actually what the numbers show is how other clubs "flum" their numbers. The RFC publish their numbers based on the criteria set down by the AFL... clearly other clubs don't
