SEN has a guy from the MCC on now. He says there are NO tickets left.

They are predicting now 95,000  . Final number will depend on how many MCC members turn up. MCC members can still role up but if they leave later than 5.30pm on Thursday then they probably won't get in as the ground will have reached capacity.

I'd like to know who purchased all the standing room tickets then because I haven't seen them for sale anywhere.

What the capacity of the MCG now - about 101k?  I wonder if there's any chance of breaking the all time H/A record of 99k from 1958 b/w Coll and Melb if the MCC is filled completely.

In the past Blaisee Ive heard the Anzac Day Game being dubbed the million dollar game. Anyway whatever it is....it looks like we're going to get a good cash injection early in the season.

I'm looking at them in my "basket."

Despite what it says on the homepage if you search for tickets there are still some available.

e.g. just a few minutes ago I got 4 side-by-side tickets in Areas:

They are still selling them.

Given total gate receipts on 95k would be around $2 to 2.5 million, I would hope that we'd get more than $250k

Didn't Smorgon say clubs currently get 30c in the dollar? That would mean $600-750k if the gate receipts were along the lines of what Infamy said.

That's the top deck so it most likely will be mixed Stripes. Not the worst spot either to watch the game as I've sat there once before although you might be side on to the Richmond end goals.

Caro is on 3aw and said Richmond will get $500k from tomorrow night yet the MCC will gain $6-7 million so Richmond will receive less than 10% of the gate receipts.

Stephen Gough disputes Caro's figures. He said if Richmond has 30k members and 20k reserved seats then they get all that money and the MCC doesn't get a cent.

A number of unhappy callers on SEN while I was driving home saying that it was wrong that they cannot get into the game on just their RFC membership...

My advice = read the fine print folks

SEN (Francis Leach in particular) was backing the RFC saying that the RFC had advised as far back as the 4/3/09 that members who didn't have reserve seats with their memberships should look at buying a seat
