Loved Chol's last goal  :clapping.

Mabs always plays better when he is moving around and attacking the footy. It's when he is stagnant and ball/opponent watching that we see those soft efforts.

Agree with this. I wish he would kick more. Beautiful by foot. He looks to handball a lot but I reckon he could be a great extra mid after a ruck contests

Being the sole ruckman has been good for his development, seemed to enjoy the freedom but the test will be against Geelongs defence

Is he quick enough to be on the wing as per Richo?

Chol needs to be a priority re-signing for Richmond

The Tigers have some deals to work through as they head towards the final stretch of the home and away season, with gun midfielder Shai Bolton and triple-premiership forward Daniel Rioli parking contract talks until the end of the season and young forward Callum Coleman-Jones also being courted by rivals. Free agents David Astbury, Kamdyn McIntosh and Bachar Houli are also all out of contract. But Mabior Chol showed on Friday night why he is a key signature the Tigers must capture, too. The unrestricted free agent booted a career-high four goals against Brisbane, and it was no coincidence his best game of the season came with Toby Nankervis back to shoulder the ruck load. Chol has suitors out there as a goalkicking/ruckman who has been in and out of Richmond’s line-up, particularly over the past three seasons. - Callum Twomey

Kane Cornes reckons Chol is now equal to Bolton in importance given "Nank is banged up".

If Nank is banged up, Choi has shown he is not the full time answer for the ruck position. Serviceable as the second ruck/forward...not the number 1. Cornes has no idea at all!

Biggest concern is he plays a handful of good games we keep him and do nothing about the Key Forward stocks. He then reverts back to normal and we end up the proverbial creek.
The other thing atm for me is its one decent game its a bit early to be hailing him as arrived. He turns 26 next year and i have to ask has the weaknesses REALLY  been overcome.

People may look at it differently but imo we only have the two GENUINE PURE KEY FORWARDS ON THE LIST. Trouble is one is 33 and the other is approaching 30 and neither Chol or CC-J are pure primarily key fwds .They both look to be reasonable ruckmen and reasonable fwds but high quality at neither at this point in time.

Playing him atm certainly has some adavantages especially in the ruck with the crazy pickett situation and allowing Nankervis good breaks during games. It also frees Lynch and Riewoldt up and gives us the third tall target we need. If he can clunk a few marks up forward then opposition have to respect him. At the end of the day he teases us all but me im looking for quality key forwards and if they are young a bloke like Chol takes games off them. Ty Vickery says hello when it comes comparisons about how well you can expect them to carry out each role.
