Poor game considering he played 90 minutes. His pressure wasn’t even up to standard.

His two goals were good but he’s just not up to this level yet.

I would drop him too but luckily for him Rioli, Naish and Ralphsmith were worse much worse players.

Three changes are an absolute maximum for Hardwick I’m not sure he’s ever made that many.
The club that keeps giving.

On the outer: Why can't he get a game for your club?

Jack Ross (Richmond)

Once again, Jack Ross has been right on the cusp of the team, a regular refrain across his two and a half seasons on Richmond's list. On the surface, it appears he's having his best year yet, already recording nine games (having played seven each in 2019 and 2020), but three of those nine he was an unused medi-sub and replaced injured players on another two occasions. Ross has been unable to find a heap of the footy in his full matches, with Riley Collier-Dawkins the preferred young midfielder of late.

The players at your club struggling to break-in -  Jack Ross

When assessing Jack Ross’ season by season trend, it doesn’t look as promising as it previously was for the young midfielder.

Ross, 20, played seven games in each of his first two seasons and so far in 2021 has tallied just six (not including times spent as the medical sub).

By now, many would’ve expected Ross to have grabbed a regular starting spot, but instead he seems to be used in a bit-part role. He has had chances this year to cement a position when the Tigers midfield has been depleted but just didn’t quite grasp them.

That being said, he’s only young and there is a bit to work with evidenced by three 20-plus disposal games in his first season.

That sounds ok if we had played him the midfield but in his games this year he has seen limited midfield time.

What did we all make of Ross' game today?

He had the second most disposals (mostly uncontested) and the most marks and metres gained.

25 disposals (13k, 12h, 4c, 21u, 64% eff.)
9 marks
2 tackles
1 clearance
4 inside 50s
3 intercepts
540m gained
5 score involvements
79% time on ground.

Not great but not bad for a bloke being played in a position completely unsuited to his strengths and skill set ... :shh

His disposal is a huge concern but his run and carry today was very good

Has a good crack, has learned how to play half back reasonably well but it's absolutely absurd as to why they are playing him in an area of the ground where good ball use it imperative. Kicks better than castagna at least but so does WAT

Must go, can't kick. Not interested in midfielders who can't kick. All due respect but should look to upgrade him next year in some way.

Want to try him as an extractor. Nothing wrong with an inside mid who handballs it more often than not.

But he needs to put on weight and play inside along with Graham etc.

Agree with this. He along with Graham need to start playing in the middle as this is their strength not as flankers. Ross could be a handy mid if he can put on another 5kg in the off season.
