Trade talk, rumours & innuendo 2021
« on: March 16, 2021, 03:43:04 PM »
Victorian clubs have been alerted to the go-home desire of top-end draft pick Fischer McAsey.

McAsey, the No.6 selection in the 2019 National Draft to the Adelaide Crows, is considered almost certain to request a trade back to his home state at seasons end.

The 196cm key position prospect from Caulfield Grammar hasn’t settled in South Australia and also has personal family reasons for exploring a move to a Melbourne-based club.

Blues ‘counter’ Freo’s $3m deal for young gun Adam Cerra

Carlton has reportedly countered Fremantle’s “significant offer” to emerging midfielder Adam Cerra, who remains a high-priority signing for the WA club.

It was widely reported last month Freo had offered the out-of-contract Cerra, 21, a four-year deal to stay at the club until at least the end of 2025.

But Cerra, who’s averaging a career-high 23.5 disposals this season, said days later he was in “no rush” to make a call on his footy future, insisting he wanted to keep his football focus short-term rather than look too far ahead.

Speaking on SEN WA Drive on Tuesday, veteran footy journalist Kim Hagdorn reported the deal the Dockers had tabled was around $3 million, but added the Blues had also lodged their interest.

“I’m hearing that it’s a significant offer,” Hagdorn told SEN WA of Fremantle’s offer.

“Adam Cerra is a primary signing amongst about 20 Fremantle players, including David Mundy, out of contract at the end of this season.

“Adam Cerra has been offered something like about $3 million over four seasons with Fremantle, but it seems as though Carlton have countered that with an offer at close to $3 million – it’s not as good as Fremantle’s offer of $3 million bucks, so $750,000 a year over those four years. Carlton have Adam Cerra in their sights at about $2.7 million, $2.8 million for four years.

“Now, that might depend on if they can wriggle a bit more if Patrick Cripps doesn’t stay with Carlton, for instance – and that’s going to blossom throughout this season.”

Carlton try to get everyone...heard it was between us & Geelong for Cerra with Geelong favourites because they're prepared to offer up Clarke as part of the deal...but then again if Cripps wants to go home.....though you'd think he'd prefer West Coast to Freo if he wants to win a flag soon.... :shh

Griffin Logue looked pretty good for Freo first up after a long lay off....a player I've always thought we should be looking at....not out of contract until the end of next year though... :shh

Sounds fine to me. Neither has really proven themselves yet and unless CCJ gets a game vs Dees it looks like we're prepared to go without a second ruck unless Soldo is available so why would we need CCJ?

Thinking more about this we do need another quality inside mid but Green is still 2-3 years away from hitting his straps and will come to us eventually - the club is in his blood-..I'd rather get Taylor right now and I'd even chuck in a first with CCJ as well if that's what it took to get him... :shh

Also hoping against hope that our list managers are trying to work out a way we can afford Kelly without compromising the TPP and the list... :shh :shh

Got to love trade rumours like this.

A caller to SEN claimed his "second cousin" who is in the know has told him Cotchin will retire at the end of the season freeing up $800k in our salary cap and that that will be used to get Patrick Cripps to Tigerland in 2022.

The way Cripps has looked these past couple of seasons I’d rather use that money elsewhere.
