Complete and utter waste of a season. Why?

Because we failed at getting back to what made us great and thought kicking goals is the panacea to winning in September.

We blew it this year and it started in the pre-season with this stupid offensive game plan that doesn’t pressure the ball carrier on any consistent level.

Crap year and a choke to finish off.

 :thumbsup

If it’s possible I’d enjoy having both elite offence but still have elite pressure.
If I had a choice of one I’d always choose pressure because that’s what wins finals.

I think the Cats are the team to win it.
They have added better ball movement and pressure into their game style.
Their premiership to lose this year.
The club that keeps giving.

As I sit here at the airport waiting to get home

There's a lot of people talking about the game

Well actually they're only talking about the review, not the actual game.

There in lies the problem, people should be talking about the game not a ridiculous decision. I had a great view of the shot we were sitting right in line with the centre of the goals (near the Richmond race). Yes it was close but it was a goal. BUT... it should never have been that close  :banghead

But the worst play of the night was their final goal and comedy capers on the Lions goal line. That was truly pathetic and embarrassing. That ball should have thumped through for a behind not tapped to the ground.

I read a few comments blasting Teague as forwards coach. However,  IMHO the biggest blast should be directed at the backline coach. We've leaked gaols all season at the most crucial of times. That's what coat us top 4 and after last night our season.

And finally I have not changed my view, it was a wasted season

Get Truck Rutten to fix our backline will benefit us bigtime.

AFL corruption.

Even if Lynch thought it wasn't a goal, no evidence was clear enough to overturn. In fact, photos show it was a goal.

AFL corruption and Umpire 23, kept Brisbane in the match.

Richmond killed Richmond in 2022.

That is the summary.

Our hunger for 2023 needs to be Us v Them.

Time for Richmond to kill the AFL in 2023.

Kane Cornes wonders if Richmond coach Damien Hardwick is regretting his decision not to tag the former Brownlow Medallist.

“I’ve got a firm view, because I’ve been in this situation, that it’s really hard to tag someone when they’re on fire. When they have their tail up and momentum and they’re into the groove of the game, it’s really difficult to send someone to Neale at half-time when he’s had 21 and nine clearances already,” Cornes said.

“I think that call had to be made pre-game and Richmond were never going to tag him pre-game because that’s not what they do.

“I don’t agree that that’s the right decision because if you look at Lachie Neale’s performances when someone has gone to him and the effect on Brisbane – they don’t win unless he’s dominant, particularly with Jarryd Lyons not there.

“In Round 23, Melbourne put a lot of time into him, and the same thing last time they played Melbourne. St Kilda’s Marcus Windhager tagged him, the Lions won that game, but just.

“There was a game against the Bombers where he had low 20s and they lost. Take Neale out and Brisbane don’t win.

“At what point do you go ‘it’s not our preferred method, but I was surprised by the lack of attention they gave him’.”

The lack of attention on Lachie Neale was a bigger disgrace that the umpiring. Pickett on him played wide.
He must have been beside himself when he saw our lack of attention. Bolton gets clamped down and we are 0 from 2 in the coaches box.
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

All this talk about the ARC is taking away attention from our cluster flying firetruck brainfade of brainfades in the Brisbane goalsquare with only a minute to go  :banghead. Seriously, you would struggle to see such Keystone Cops cluelessness from 8 year olds at Auskick level :facepalm. The Club can't blame youth and inexperience in the side last night either as the culprits were all senior premiership players. That level of stupidity has cost us all season and now another schoolboy brainfade has cost us our season  :banghead.

It sits with our leaders and our coaches that we were so amateurish at the fundamentals this year. No point complaining about it in a post-game presser either Dimma. I commented earlier this year in the training thread during preseason that our training standards had dropped and we didn't pull up basic skill errors. Then add the drop in our fitness and especially conditioning which saw so many soft tissue injuries including a number of repeated ones :help. It's all now come home to roost. 2022 was there for the taking and we blew it! The Club and especially the footy department needs a right royal kick up the backside.

Agree MT.
There’s an old saying that goes “Lose by a 100 and it’s the list, lose by 10 and it’s the coach”
Those training standards and errors have cost us a flag and Dimma should be taking responsibility

Very disappointing reading about the drop in standards , though not a surprise..
Always got the impression that the likes of Mcrae and Leppa were a big driver of standards.culture etc?
Football dept really needs some quality brought in..

The mess at the end of Brisbane was a bit similar to the mess at the end vs Geelong. Couldn't kill a basic contested pack mark with a minute left. School boy stuff.

Agree MT.

And there's a disgusting photo clearly showing Daniher kick that goal with FIVE tigers nearby and none of them able to spoil effectively.

Nank and Balta were there, two blokes who played damned poor last night. They need to lift for 2023 big time.

Gutted. So close :(

Yep. Very disappointing. Now we have 6 months of Claw telling us how crap we are, How we haven't drafted the right players, got the right coaches and  have no hope. I see hope in quite a few of our young guys and have to trust the coaching group that has got us to more finals than any other in our history. Roll on March 2023.

I don't think i call us crap. I just point out and comment on things i think we can be better at.

I have stated i thought we would finish somewhere between lower part of the 8 and 12th. I gave what i thought were good and obvious reasons.

Do i think we are lacking certain types of players and do i think we lack depth in areas you bet ya.
Do i think a lot of our players who are talked up ad nauseum a tad over rated then yes its true.

Do i see hope in some of our young players of course. Have i had faith in the coaches to actually play em then no i believe most  have only got games thru circumstance.

It has been patently obvious that we lack for contested ball and clearance players for years. It has been as clear as the nose on your face for many years that we lack GENUINE KEY FORWARDS  in planning a succession. Have stated we lack for enough medium sized players on the list
Just my opinion but we have eked out every drop of blood we could from a core group who each year are getting older and cannot do what they once did.

Im not saying anything different to what a lot of posters are saying im just more blunt about it.
