I'll ask again - 6 players left during the off-season & only 5 came in via the draft -so do we still have a list spot left? Did DE-S get upgraded from cat B to cat A and take the final spot? :huh

Matty Clarke said our list is full, unless we have a LTI

So I  guess DE-S was upgraded from cat B to cat A then, because that's the only way I can see it being full now unless I'm missing something/someone?

we currently have

38 on main
6 rookies inc DES

Think you may be correct about DES now being Cat A

DES is still a Category B rookie I believe.

Then we should still have a free spot if that's the case...I counted that as 38 & 5 rookies excluding DE-S, so it's either that or they just haven't updated it yet...  :huh

For 2017, we started with 40 senior listed players, 4 Cat. A rookies and Soldo as our Cat. B rookie (40-4-1). Yarran getting the flick early on meant we actually had 39-4-1.

For 2018, we started 40-4-1 with DES as our Cat. B rookie. In reality, we had 38-4-1 as Griffiths and Hampson didn't play and retired early.

For 2019, we started with 38-4-1 post the drafts. It then increased to 38-6-1 with the inclusion of Weller & Stack via the PSS. When Grigg retired it became 37-7-1 with the inclusion of Pickett via the mid-season draft.

For the upcoming 2020, we've filled up our senior list to 38 again. So our current list make-up is 38-5-1 and it's one less in terms of total players than in previous years.

Perhaps it's a TPP issue then? We just don't have the room on our books this year for a sixth Cat. A rookie. DES as a Cat. B rookie isn't included in our salary cap IIRC.

Clubs have until March to add another player in the supplemental selection period which Richmond used to recruit excitement machine Sydney Stack.

John Worsfold’s men have another spot after putting new draftee Lachie Johnson, the son of Brisbane Lions’ great Chris Johnson, on the inactive list.

No mention of us again adding any more players.

Collingwood, Hawthorn, GWS, Melbourne, Essendon and West Coast all have open spots on their list going into 2020.

The AFL videos of Melbourne's recruiters working through the draft are pretty cool.  Interestingly, they thought Ralphsmith would be taken around 30.
Would love to see the Richmond room.
