Howat got plenty of the footy yesterday but he had the unusual touch of the fumbles like a few boys did hearing footsteps due to Geelong's pressure. He's also one-sided.

Tambling - When is he going to learn how to pick a moving pill off the ground. Disposal was terrible. Needs to go to dung beetle school to learn how to keep the ball in front.

I think that will come with time. The concern I have with Tambo is he's getting into a habit of getting underneath his kick and chipping it like a wedge shot in golf rather than kicking through the ball. It affects his accuracy and length of his kicks. It was the reason he kicked the footy out on the full when having that running shot in the first quarter. You've got to kick through the ball and drill you shots Richie.

I know it's only February and it was just a glorified practice match but I reckon when:

1/ you've been hanging out for some footy

2/ and to see your team for the first time in 6 months

3/ because you're really looking forward to the season

4/ and to top it off you travel down the highway to that pathetic excuse for a venue

and you get beaten by Geeeeeeeeeeelong it's hard not to feel a tad bit deflated :thumbsup

Onwards and upwards now - I am over it.

Bring on the Blues and round 1  at a decent venue  ;) ;D

What he ^ said. I was in a bad mood.
Don't forget Geelong won it last year and Carlton the year before that and what happened.
Maybe now we will get a practice match closer to home at some nice suburban oval and not Nazi stadium.

Geez some of Rainseys disposals were pretty ordinary also. Sorry Moi - call it as I see it ...

I agree with what WP said, that's why I was so frustrated... over it now lol

And yeah Rainsey was a bit ordinary... most of the boys were.

I just remembered Tuckys ripper kick for goal from one metre out and not getting much purchase at all.

That made me laugh.  :lol

But anyway bring on Round 1.

THE BAD

1) richo did his hamstring running into an open goal with no pressure on him ...

2) krakouer got injured twice ... foot, kicking milburn in the head and then his knee ... so how is it at the moment ???

3) only one ruckman ??? why didn't they play another one ???

4) our backline was almost full-strengh !

5) our forward line leads to early ...

6) our midfield don't pick up there man defensively

7) midfield are lazy

8) tamlbing ??? where was he ???

9) meyer didn't get on the ground ...

10) we had 20 goals kicked on us !

THE GOOD

1) our guernseys look not bad ...

THATS ALL

Goalkicking was excellent especially in windy conditions. Lucky for us we were on target otherwise it could have been even uglier.

Polak making a reasonable debut for us

Newy getting through the game and being one of our few better players.

Browny kicking 3 goals from limited opportunities.

Ummm ..... yep that's all  :yep
